All evidence gathered would be fruit of the poisonous tree and permenatly disqualified from court. Any traffic collisions would subject the agency to thousands of dollars in claims if not more. It should not need a charge in the middle of your shift. Problem is getting into a Tesla at the start of the shift realizing it has low battery. Then having to put it on charger and get another car. It's extremely unlikely to drain the battery during 1 shift. The problem is they can't do a instant hand over with two shifts.

Police vehicles don’t cover much millage in a single day. (Good) EV’s are better choices for patrol vehicles outside of probably state agencies. Hopefully they still have some gas vehicles (there is one fusion in frame), because electric technology is still developing, but for small scale those should be fine.
