  • Hey Horse Lovers! In this video, Kyle and I set out on a Trail Riding Adventure with Mushu, Zazu, and Arlo! This will be Mushu's first big adventure and first trail ride away from the farm (while being ponied by Zazu & I). We will ride through the woods, open fields, sand paths, cross the creek, and go up and down hill. We will also work in all 3 gaits, walk, trot, and canter. This trail ride was beautiful and FULL of excitement. BUT THE BIG QUESTION IS HOW DOES MUSHU DO AND WHAT HAPPENED ON THE TRAIL?! WATCH TO SEE! IF YOU ENJOY OUR CONTENT SUBSCRIBE! MUSHU THE HAIRY COB

I really enjoyed listening to Kyle’s narration. I was so pleased with his wisdom regarding this trail site, (Waterloo), and the tidbits about Shae’s preferences going downhill, to a walk, ponying Mushu, etc. also, Kyle really has a knowledge about not just these 3 horses today, but I can tell, he has a grasp about the temperaments and behaviors about all the horses in the Farm, Free Spirit Equestrian.
It is so difficult to film, ride and narrate at the same time. Kudos Kyle. It has been a lovely, happy Sunday morning with you, Shae, Mushu, Arlo, and Zazu!!! ❤❤❤❤❤

This brings tears to this 68 year old lady.’s eyes. This reminds me of the trails I rode my Harley boy on. This was 20 years ago. I was scolded because I rode him bitless on the trails; “What if your horse is out of control and hurts us.” 😉 I guess it was radical here in Oregon. I used a hackamore back then. I heavily padded the noseband with fleece. Harley rejected all bits, and was very happy bitless. If your bridles were available back then, I would have ordered one in a heartbeat. Happy trails.

@@barbarawitt9989 When I was a teenager, I has a mare like yours. I tried every kind of bit, except harsh, and every kind of bit less, and nothing worked. She just won't listen. She had a hard mouth and a harder attitude, and took advantage of a young girl who didn't want to hurt her. When I purchased her, she had been "trained" by someone else. I tried to retrain her with no result. I finally sold her to someone with more experience who mostly wanted her as a pinto brood horse. She was gorgeous and threw really nice foals which won awards, so she finally found her home.

It was really cool listening to him talk about horses in general for people who maybe don’t own any and describe what can happen on the trail at anytime. That looked like a really great trail, and Mushu did fantastic, I mean we didn’t see the whole trail ride of course. But he did great being away from home in a whole new environment. Shae has done a phenomenal job preparing him for it. Zazu was a great big bro for him, and to have him between the two horses was quite comforting for him I would think. But when he got loose, I’m like oh no! Young and loose can be scary, thank god for some grass to distract him from taking off down the trail,,,phew!

Loved hearing Kyle's narrative about this trail ride. He was very knowledgeable about the park, Waterloo, and why Shea was doing what she was doing. He was so calm, just like Shea always is and was very complimentary regarding Shea's experience with horses. Thank you Kyle for filming this video. Mushu really did well on the trail and look forward to seeing you ride him there someday. Waterloo was ideal for Mushu's first time out, just enough difficulty with small hills and streams to make it useful for training as well as visually interesting for your followers. Thank you.

I smiled the whole time, watching Mushu checking out the view. I swear there were a few times when I half expected him to stop, point at something, and say “hey mom, what’s that? Let’s go check it out!” Just like a dog, or a kid. That horse has the BEST personality of any horse. Love him to bits!😍❤️😘😘😘

Shea & Kyle - What a wonderful video! I had a blast on "our" trail ride. Mushu must've spooked at one of those scary "doesn't move" things. =) Kyle did an awesome job filming while riding one handed. It was a blast to hear his commentary during the ride - and the compliments for Shea he through in once in a while (while she kept looking back to check on him. 💞). The best quote from the video came at the beginning while you guys were saddling up: Shea said Mushu was happy since he had "friends and hay." What else does a horse need? "Friends and hay." Love it.

I loved your comment, Shae, and laughed out loud : "... horses are scared of two things : things that move, and things that don't !!! " I'd add to that : " things that 'flutter' " like plastic garbage bags, tarps on passing trucks, and such.
    So "moving, in place " !!! :)

Yep. My horse was scared by a Monarch fluttering across the road one day in a full run. Glad I was on a Western Saddle. Without that horn I would have been left on the left side of the road. Drn butterfly's. Wish we'd had more of them.
Then there was the he saw it, I didn't thing up on a rocky hill full of cactus where he became 'Bronco Bucky' all the way down the hill where I finally dove off before an over the gate escape upon which he stopped on a dime and looked at me like Uh..what are you doing down there? Did I Do That? He actually looked t the saddle and then back down at me again. Looking all innocent.
What goes on in a horses head?

@@user-ii4zf5iq3t LOL...my horse once spooked at a log in the long grass off from the side of the trail. We came galloping around a slight bend in the trail, and she spotted it.....and jumped /spooked about 10' sideways ! This was the first summer I had my first horse - a long time ago ! It was like in a cartoon - the horse was gone from under me, and I 'floated' in mid air - for just a moment - before plunging to the ground ! LOL I wasn't hurt, and she just trotted ahead about 50 ' or so, and started to graze. She was basically a good mare, and you can't blame them if they're really frightened, can
you ? It happens. Memories of the horses we've loved, hey ? :)

Omg, I love this video. I think it maybe my favourite trail ride one for several reasons. Obviously taking Mushy and educating him. The trail it's self, but the winner hands down is the pair of you explaining and educating together. Fantastic. Soo nice to have Kyle explaining why you do,or what your doing while your doing it. Not because it's Kyle, your Husband ,but because you can hear in his voice his pride and appreciation for why you invest the time, money and physical work into the understanding of Horse behaviour and your wish and willingness to spread the word and your wisdom. The benefits of which are so very clear to see. Loved this. You are just a wonderful lady Shae and a fabulous couple. More please.xx🐴🥰😊

Absolutely gorgeous trails, and all the boys behaved so well! Looks like is was such a fun outing. Mushu is SUCH a good boy, really incredible that he only got fibberty gibbertus one time and came back from it so fast. I think that's HUGE win. It's not that the horse spooked, but how they and the rider/handler handle it that matters. Arlo and Zazu sandwiching him on the trail must have made him feel much more at ease and they were both top tier herdmates for lil Mushi's first field trip.
