Hey Dilby, nice breakdown! Love the groove you built up in the drums. I'm wondering if you could explain a little about how to approach sampling vocals from UA-cam. I'm curious about what kinds of things you search for and how you go about licensing? I've thought about trying this, but not sure what the best approach is.
Awesome video as aways, thank you very much, Dilby! I was counting the days for this one!! Question: The bass and the toms are sounding awesome to me, but, theoretically, arent we supposed to cut de very lows from the toms to avoid conflict with the bass?
Thanks for watching mate, and great question too. Let me explain... In my opinion there aren't hard and fast rules for writing music and production, but unfortunately a lot of people, especially on UA-cam, advise that people should ALWAYS do this and ALWAYS do that. If you analyze your comment, the answer is in there. In your opinion the bass and tom are sounding awesome. So my question would be why would you cut the low tom? If you identified a conflict in the bass then cutting the tom could be a possible solution. Another option could be to sidechain the bass to the tom or have some spectral ducking from one to the other to remove competing frequencies. But if there is no conflict then why is it needed? In this case the volume of the tom and the volume of the bass along with the timbre and frequency of each sound means there is space for both and they are working in harmony. I strongly suggest that producers learn to implement these techniques as solutions to problems rather than as default actions or rules. Every track is different and requires different treatment based on the specifics of the elements and the way they interact. I hope that helps ✌️
5:30 @dilbydj Great Video, Confused though about these chords. If you just voiced out the chord tool from the piano channel you would get for the first chord a 5th dyad with an octave voiced as G#, D# and then another G# 1 octave above/below. However, in the first chord of the pad you added a B which would be a G# Minor. I am not sure what the 5th chord in the scale voices as D#, G#, A#; or maybe I am wrong/thinking too much and you were just doing what sounded ok as you said! haha

@@dilbydj 100% this is the truth! Thanks Dilby for making this so clear - best channel for intermediate producers :)

With all those sharps I'm not surprised you're confused, I'd say this progression is really in Ebm (enharmonic of Dbm).
Nice!
Whats your fave VS track?? I cant go past Hael, it literally sounds like fantasy!
Quick question please ref LFO Tool.... do you just use the preset "Sidechain 1" from the drop down. How does this preset know what to sidechain from?
I use a preset that I made by manually adjusting the curves
maser class for UV progressive house sound please
What is UV?
Why you are still not on ajunadeep??
😢 maybe one day 🙏
@@dilbydj they don't sign you? Or it's actually you who don't associate your sound with them? I think your music sounds right up their alley.
@@lilreotardo I've sent them a few things but nothing signed. One day maybe.
