      @@dilbydj Thank you! I was just hoping to study some Live project files as a learning experience to see how pros do it. There are a few companies who sell Ableton project files but they leave a lot to de desired. The crazy thing is there are many good ones for other DAWs.

      @@hannahbackward I am in the process of creating a masterclass that will be a start to finish track along with project files. Probably between 4-7 hours of content. But it takes time to produce. Of course I will announce it on the channel when it's done.

    • @hannahbackward
      @hannahbackward Рік тому

      @@dilbydj That sounds excellent. I'll watch for it. I've done many before and they make two common mistakes--they will include rendered audio clips of the very stuff you wanted to learn to make or they forget there's an audience trying to follow along and start making changes without explaining what they are doing or what they did. I don't expect you will do either and I'm just venting because of a recent experience, lol.

    • @dilbydj
      @dilbydj  Рік тому

      @@hannahbackward Yeah, I can see how that would be frustrating. There are probably 3 reasons for the audio clips.
      1 they recorded it from hardware when making it so only have the audio.
      2 it's from a loop or sample and they are trying to hide the fact they use loops or avoid getting caught sampling something.
      3 they created it by running the sound through an fx unit or plugin and manipulated it live to get the sound, so they only have the audio.

    I am glad that I found you. I started producing music a little bit more than a year ago, I am improving fast but still a lot of work and practice to do of course. Now I feel I am at the stage where I have to find out what genre of music I want to produce. I like so many different genres, from drum & bass, techno, hiphop, trap and of course house too. My idea was to make quality house music but so far I haven't found somebody who has similar style and also teaching it on youtube on a very effective way. Till now. I like your music too, because it's an ideally balanced mixture of the best things of the house music. Little bit classic, little bit deep but still party music, a pinch of techyness, a little hipnotic, nice vocals... I want the same, just of course with my sound, implement my style. So I can't wait to learn a lot from you. Big ups

      Thanks mate. I appreciate what you're saying and you're right, it may be simple, but it doesn't mean it's easy. My point is that the techniques I use are not out of reach of most producers and often done in the quickest and easiest way (using a one shot sample instead of sound designing in a synth for example). I see a lot of people focusing on complicating things and making them more elaborate, often at the cost of forgoing creativity and songwriting.

    Great video. I have a question about your use of busses as opposed to using a return channel to achieve the same result. You bus each group of sounds to its own bus, and then add the effects you want to said bus. Why not use a return channel for that? Do you find your method gives you something a return channel doesn't? Thanks!

    • @dilbydj
      @dilbydj  Рік тому

      With the drum bus for example, I route all the drums into that channel and the processing is applied to the 100% of the dry signal. If I send all drums to a return channel the unprocessed drums play PLUS whatever processing I do on the return channel.

    • @matthewkelly4728

Just so confused by what people are calling progressive today and what people are calling deep today. Confused about a lot though actually. 2 days into recovering from a serious concussion so pay no mind 😂

    • @dilbydj

      Just turn down the clap 😂
      I can see a problem with this idea. Anytime you pull out the kick, the limiter is going to pull the volume of the clap up. This makes the clap louder in those parts. If you add sidechain compression to the equation, it is going to make this effect even more extreme.

People complain about how A.I will be cheating but this is the exact reason why a.i is able to now produce something identical to this. It's because humans themselves were just recycling each others generic shit and A.I is really REALLY good at detecting generic patterns, the better a.i can do something jus means there were MORE people recycling the same thing thus increasing the data for the a.i to perfect.
