Well done commander, loved your video. I just got Elite on my PS4 PRO and i was hooked from the start. For lack of better words, ED is just plain awesome. I got a lot to learn to get out there and explore the almost infinite destinations. Hope a VR patch will come for this game in the not too distant future, Elite was build for VR and it just doesn't make any sense for Sony to not put ED in VR mode. Watch out for those black holes. Happy flying.
The fun part is exploring, the boring part is the long gaps of nothing , reminds me of home ,except the empty spaces would be filled with corn fields , it's space ship semi truck driving with space hillbillies going for loot.
I know this may be a really dumb question, but in this game, could you in theory fly from one planet to another using regular engines and without using supercruise, just extremely slowly?
what does disengage do? so you approach target and you disengage? to where? i dont understand the mechanics of the game, seems counter intuitive, closer you get to something you should engage it, not disengage. or do you disengage current location to later engage targets position? also same happenes when you jump from system to system. you approach jumping point and you slow down to disengage. does is serve also loading the game function? i just need clarification please
+Alex B Disengage refers to the FSD (Frame Shift Drive), and disengaging will always drop you down to a slower and more manageable speed for docking/fighting.
I pre-ordered the game on Dec. 6th, am I eligible for any other downloads to play other than the "Combat Demo"? I am not seeing anything else to download. How do I get what you are playing right now?
Before the middle of November there were other items in the Frontier shop - for 60 EUR you could get the Beta Access pass + the Mercenary pack(that is the only thing available for pre-order now). You can see it here - store.elitedangerous.com/eur/elite-dangerous-beta.html It is no longer available, so you can only get the Mercenary pack game which opens up on the 16th of December for all pre-order users. Until then, unfortunately, you will only have access to the Combat Demo. Currently we are playing the so-called Gamma version, which is supposed to be the final version of the game. It was supposed to be a sort of a headstart for us early backers, but there have been messages from the devs, stating they may have to do a wipe prior to the 16th anyways. So I am withholding from playing at the moment.

@@BoostedMonkey05 Elite was not originally a PC game. Unless you mean PC as any personal computer. Originally it was released for the BBC model B, then Sinclair Spectrum and C64.

As a player with over 700 hours in the game, I greatly prefer the original sounds in hyperspace over the ones now.

I believe you can. As long as your destination is within the same system.
