Kel-Tec KSG. The grandaddy and still King of bull pup pump action shotguns.

  • The Kel-Tec KSG is, in my opinion, the grandaddy and undisputed king of all pump action bull pup shotguns. Many have tried to imitate this innovative masterpiece, but John Wick didn't use anything other than the trusted Kel-Tec to avenge his dog!
    With a round capacity big enough to make a small country nervous and the simplicity that even our shot gun touting senile "leader" can understand to operate this bull pup makes hamburger of anything on the receiving end.
    Accuracy, reliability, and ease of maintenance make this bull pup a must-have for any serious gun enthusiast. CQB? Are you kidding me? This is the perfect home defense firearm or truck gun in case the zombie apocalypse happens while you're at work and need to get home.
    Make sure you have your big boy or big girl pants on when utilizing this beast...it is not for the faint of heart. And she likes it rough. Spank that slide with intention when playing with her and she will love you LONG time.

    I've had my KSG for about 8 years now and she is by far one of my favorite range toys , as long as you run reliable 00buck or slugs she runs great . the only time I've ever had mine jam on me is when I was using low brass cheap Walmart federal birdshot , other then that my ksg has been running great and its a gen1 with a low serial #. the hardest thing ive had to overcome with it was finding a reliable light mounting option that will hold the test of time . i ended up getting the extended lower aluminum rail and slapping an olight on it and its help up for over 700 rounds since i put it on

    This is my favorite long-gun, KSG 12-Gen 2. I run a SUREFIRE X-400 on the lower rail thus placing my pistol grip further to the rear and actually generates a sure and quick charging and at any angle. The elevator captures the round (any length) at any angle and a positive feed.

    He isn't joking about being surgical with 1 oz. slugs , I shot every single 1oz. Foster slug that I could find on the market and the Remington slugger was the best for accuracy for me at 50 yards with a bench rest, it looked like a exacto knife removed the bullseye , I meant tack driver and it was repeatable with the Remington slugs ! I had one of those sights that I actually really liked for the price.
    It eventually had a tiny ball bearing fall out of it (x39 pistol recoil)
    I contacted the manufacturer they sent me a new one. It would never zero. Right. The dot was good. When you flip to the circle dot. It's way off.
    Just a heads up the ball bearing fell out hitting the shooter on the left wrist. 300ish rds in the x39 10.5 It has some recoil though I'd guess the 12ga has more.

    • @threelinesurvival
      @threelinesurvival  Рік тому

      You would be dead before you reloaded the KSG from any type of carrier. There is no tactically reloading that bull pup. That's why you have 15 rounds in the tube and barrel to begin with. If that didn't kill whatever you're up against, I don't know what will. It's more for convenience. Not quick reloading. Thanks for the comment, and thank you for your support! Much appreciated!!

      I'm not a fan of bull pup's in a rifle. The magazine change and operation boggles my mind. But they had one of these at my indoor range to rent. So I tried it out and was convinced I needed one. A few weeks later one showed up at my favorite gun store, The Damage Factory, and I bought it on the spot. I have no regrets. For clearing a house or carrying in your truck...its unbeatable. Legal in all 50 states so even if I travel with it in the truck there are no issues. It's not something you can tactically reload but 15 rounds of slugs in a single cycle...can't imagine you would need to.

    So usually im very sure about the guns i like but this has put me in a predicament. Ive decided on a bullpup shotgun for CQB home defense due to capacity. I'm trying to convince myself the KSG because of price is best choice over the M&P12 or DP12. Also its smaller. But now the Tavor 12 has caught my eye and makes me want to ditch the pump and go semi especially since you say its hard on the recoil. Thoughts? Thank you.

    • @threelinesurvival
      @threelinesurvival  Рік тому +2

      Thanks for the question! I will give you my philosophy when it comes to CQB in a home defense scenario.
      Your choice of firearm is, in my opinion, an excellent one. Any one of the bullpups you mentioned would do the job. But they all have factors to consider.
      Price- The M&P 12 comes in at right around $1300 naked. The Tavor 12 is priced at around $1300 naked. The DP 12 is in the $1500-$1700 range naked as well. The total price of the KSG in my video, with all the furniture, is $1300. That's pretty significant. It gives me the freedom to purchase freedom seeds in large quantities and have all the accessories I want.
      Functionality- The M&P 12, DP 12, and Tavor 12 all require the operator to either remove a hand from the forward grip or turn the tube, requiring reposition of the hand to select the next feed tube and require a proper grip. With the KSG I can maintain my shooting grip on both the rear and forward grip, and with a simple flip of my wrist, select another tube with the extended selector switch. I'm also maintaining my sight on target through that process. In addition, with the Tavor, you're relying on a gas tube to function properly. There are too many moving parts. You want things to be simple and efficient in a high stress situation to minimize any malfunction. Also, breaking down the KSG is done by simply removing 2 pins, a good palm slap to the stock, and your broken down. The other bullpups are way more complicated to break down. The KSG is the lightest and shortest of the bullpups mentioned, making it easier to maneuver with the same amount of firepower. I'm talking by a few pounds in some comparisons. Remember, you have 16, 1oz slugs, or buckshot. That's a pound in projectiles alone, never mind the casing, brass, wadding, and gunpowder. Makes a difference, in my opinion.
      Last is the fact it's made in America and is the bullpup 12 gauge all others are modeled after. It's not from Israel. The money you spend on the KSG stays right here supporting an American company and employing American workers.
      I hope that sheds some light on your decision-making. With any platform you choose, training should be a priority as well. Thanks again for your question, and thank you so much for your support. I really appreciate it!
