Looking good! Everything looks better after SRP, and as you say, you don't always have the time for a full correction - can't argue with that for 10 mins work.
Hi Martin, yes I have a bottle on my shelf but haven’t used it for a while. Tend to use spray on sealants now for ease (GT Sigma). As other posters have suggested putting AG Extra Gloss Protection on top significantly boosts protection and helps maintain the SRP gloss.
@@paul6749 hi Paul, yep I agree extra gloss or another sealant would have been my normal process but I ran out of time as my Daughter needed to go🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
It's something 95% of us have in our shed / garages yet isn't hip in the "scene" but still works. I admit I've a bottle I use rarely, mostly on other family members cars, and is it Ultra Deep Shine ? Black label on it ? For years I used those or Meguiars Tech Wax and always got good results. Sometimes I do wonder if I should sometimes dig em out and try on the Rocco in place of what normally use. Old school is cool when it's still doing a decent job . And no one listening is called marriage mate. Hi Martin Total agree with Autoglym srp brilliant So easy to use and gives a lovely deep shine and great water repellent. I have used this product for at least 20yrs Autoglym is my go to for most detailing products. Great episode thank you Martin :)
A pleasure Jonathon. You can't go wrong with Autoglym products and most of us started off using them but unfortunately for whatever reason they seem unfashionable. That's ok though as Ive never been a fashion icon 🤣
Thanks for sharing, SRP has been a staple of mine for years, so many people over look it, a couple of coats of Autoglym ceramic spray on top and my van looks better than new! If you don’t post again before Xmas, Merry Christmas to you and your family mate, stay safe!
Great update and review video Martin, AG SRP is a great product and then to hold in and protect the shine go over SRP is the AG Extra Gloss Protection, and to then for extra staying power add a layer of Autoglym Rapid Ceramic Spray….. I use loads of different products but to gravitate back to those 3 most of the time…. you haven’t cost me anything this time mate ha ha….. all the best Tris 😀😀
Hi Martin, car looks great. Like many I have some of this time to give it a go again instead of recent purchases, first time you’ve saved me from a purchase! 😂
That's a blast from the past Martin . I used to use super resin polish and Auto Glym's bodywork shampoo as a young lad on my XR2 , then my Golf GTI . Great product , dusty on wipe off compared to modern products. Still got some in the garage in an AutoGlym detailing bag i was given for Christmas one year 😃
What a lovely finish on the best colour for a car in my opinion. I have not used that product for many years but I might have to look it out after that. That would make a great base for one of my many waxes by John. I used to use that on my red Escort Si way back in the 90's and it worked a treat then but there wasn't much choice until detailing really took off in the last 15 years or so. Thanks for sharing.

The original Autoglym SRP from the 1980's was the best, it came in a round bottle. I think they changed the formula because it was very dusty back then, but did have a lovely scent to it.

Hi Martin, I've just brought some SRP and I've brought some yum cars ceramic spray sealant and yum wax. So would it be ok to put the ceramic spray sealant and the wax on top of the SRP or would you recommend a different approach many thanks.
Hello Adrian, firstly I doubt the spray is actually ceramic probably a little misleading. However if you apply a true ceramic coating then I wouldn't recommend applying it over another product. A true ceramic coating is exactly what it says, it's a very thin coat. A little like another clear coat. So you want to apply it directly to the paint and not on another product. You would also want to ensure the paint is in very good condition as any scuffs, swirls or marks will be sealed in under the coating for its life. I suggest without seeing it that you have a product that is more a long lasting si02 sealant as Im pretty sure a ceramic products cant be atomised. However you can apply a wax or sealant on top of SRP. Hope thats of some help mate
You must be on the mince pie's now martin keeping the wife's car in tip top condition, i must say iam impressed, have agood week and i will see you in the next one😊
Hello Martin, brilliant video,I was thinking of getting some of this, have they improved the product or is it the same thing?.it does look good on the car.
@@ObsessiveCarDetailer I can help you Martin, that bottle is the post 2012 version, when the original formulation from the 80's was reformulated to reduce dusting, increase gloss, increase durability and improve hydrophobics.
Turned out well. Its a good product. But I don't like the way it dusts up. Pure followed by a nice glaze is my preference. I binned mine. Then it came free in another promo box i got😂 (not the exact same one, cos that would be some kind of weird horror flick Revenge of the Attack of the SRP)
Haven’t used this for decades Martin , always dusted up ; but it looked good on your daughter’s car. The piggy bank will stay closed again on this one …
Used it since 1998. Never dusted for me (you're probably putting too much on). I went deep into the rabbit hole with all the latest fandango ceramics and have come full circle back to autoglym and srp again.
I've used this in the past and the Ultra Deep Shine which is basically the same thing but for darker car paints and it's bloody brilliant stuff ..... Autoglym stuff works and works well there's just too much brand snobbery in the detailing world where if a product doesn't cost an arm and a leg or a kidney then it's rubbish
