Connor's First Wreck in the Neon at Dixie Speedway's Season Opener | 04/06/24

Our 2024 season opener at Dixie Speedway did not go as planned. This was Connor's first time racing at Dixie and the Stinger field did not get hot laps. Not knowing what to expect and a lot of oil laid on the track throughout the night made for some new situations that Connor had to learn. Towards the end while exploring a different line, the car hit a spot of oil and got loose. A driver error and over correction later and the right front is messed up. It is fixable and a lot of lessons were learned.

Contrary to natural instinct never correct to fast. You may overcorrect and let the car get away to the point you cannot bring it back. At that point we are along for the ride. Keep it smooth and good luck.

Thank you! And yeah, lesson definitely learned. Honestly, I knew not to turn towards the wall, but in the heat of the moment the natural instinct kicked in and it was too late. On the bright side I found a flaw that I can work on and pay attention to and keep getting better.
