As someone who lives with OCD and has read the book this movie will hopefully shed more light on what some people actually go through. OCD is not an adjective or a quirk because the reality of it is that It's a debilitating disorder.
this feels good. when i read this book i felt seen. my anxiety practically controls my life and my thoughts are never ending. yearning for an ounce of freedom from your own mind is an everyday battle since i was 14. this is helpful
I can relate to all of this. I hope I can go one day without giving into a ritual. It's always easy to say from outside perspective but It's really tough to go through. I wish you well and hope nothing but the best for you! They are just thoughts that come and go but yet we feel stuck in a constant loop with our fears. Take it one day at a time and try not to give in your own mind. They are just thoughts. "Oh wells" are better than "What ifs"
just finished the book literally like 10 minutes ago. as a person with both an anxiety disorder and ocd the author wrote them very well, he really understood. i hope the movie is just as good as the book
This film is going to be so hard to watch. As someone who suffers from anxiety and depression and grew up with constantly overthinking and worrying, this will hit. I have the book but haven't read it yet, this gives me a bit more insight of what it's going to be about. So excited!
Just so you know this is a movie, not a tv series. Nowadays, trailers for tv shows looks just like movie trailers, and when they premier on streaming channels, it's sometimes hard to tell what is what.
If WBD can keep heartfelt stories like this coming, they can have all my money, because literally.. these are the kind of movies we need today nationwide. Movies that matter, stories that encourage and educate people on understanding each other better. Love is is a scary place, and no-one else is talking about it.
With that, it will be very interesting and striking to understand obsessive compulsive disorder or OCD, from the perspective of the character wonderfully played by the talented actress Isabela, just that, that's all. ⭐
I can explain the pressure in my chest when I saw this trailer especially the part about the intimate things in a relationship because GOD that something that really scares me some times when I think about that and I never really been in a relationship but thats my point. And thats what makes feel scared cause, I have autism and there are sometimes when I don't like the fisic contact even if I'm close to this person. So I've always dream about having this beautiful first realtionship with an amazing guy but this kind of little things are going to happen and I want them to happen but at the same time I don't know how to feel or how am I supposed to react or like... AKAHDKHFAKJDSA I DON'T KNOW DUDE HELP
I remember her being a child in Transformers Last Knight now she's a Lady. Time went fast but not as fast as Michael Bay having a new transformer franchise.
I CAN'T believe they did a movie based on my favorite book and one of the best I've ever read. But after watching the trailer I am dissapointed, it won't be as good as a book. Where is the plot of his father missing?
It's in there. The movie is quite true to the book (I got to see the preview Saturday) and the few changes made actually made it better (IMO, and John voiced his support for them as well in the panel discussion that followed). I don't think you'll be disappointed.
One scene she's a germaphobe, next scene she's in a car at a restaurant sitting at a cubicle with hundreds off a**ses sitting on that same cubicle. Seems very contrived.
People with OCD get through life. It is a struggle. They have their days where they are in control, they have their days when OCD is in control. The author and the producers know and understand this very well. The movie, if you see the whole thing, portrays this very seriously and thoughtfully.
i cant be the only one who hate how they take these boys who play bad boys or just boys who people like and put them in other romantic movies like these, i know damn well yall couldve found someone we dont know
They show too much in the Trailer. The first third was enough. The car accident was unnecessary to show halfway through. It was enough, and I shut it off.
... did they really ignore the entire premise of the book being about finding Davis dad for the cash reward? They're just portraying this as another ill girl love story when it was so much more Can't wait to see it though!
@primuskuhl Well, yes. I might've expressed myself wrong. What I was hinting at is that, even though the story is about her illness, and that is the center focus, the story develops on the arc of finding Pickett Sr. Her illness is the main focus, but what drives that storyline forward is her search, and that isn't portrayed on the trailer.
.......It's nice to know they leave nothing to question ........With trailers like this, you don't need to see the movie lol. I'm done with movies that spoil themselves in the trailer
@@lilacrimosa I saw it Saturday and it's quite true to the book. There is a lot that the trailer doesn't include (as you'll know if you've read the book) but most of it is still in the movie. It won't be one-to-one, of course, but I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I wish I could feel good supporting this film, but the Greens’ silence on the multiple active gcides rn is impossible to ignore. I have a partner who has severe anxiety, and I also have an anxiety disorder. I wish that John understood that every day, kids and adults in Palestine, in Sudan, in Congo, are developing severe trauma or already have mental health problems like this character- and I guess if he can’t make money off writing about one of them, they don’t really matter to him, or Hank. Stop romanticizing our mental illnesses when you can’t even take an active stand for the people who actually have them- and that means ALL of us.
@@tonyg76 Why would I hyperfocus on the US when there are millions of people globally, some way worse off than us, who also have severe anxiety disorders? I truly do not care at all for this type of xenophobic and racist response to this issue, and it’s what I would expect from the nerdfighter fandom, which is largely full of white people who think they’re progressive.
@@tonyg76 also, since I’ve developed anxiety, the US has done fuck all to help me. So I have no idea what you’re talking about in terms of “help”. Who is helping? How many times have those of us with mental health issues advocated for help and universal healthcare? Instead, that money is currently funding the death and obliteration of Black and brown Muslims.
did they practically show the whole movie? yes. will i be tuning in? yes.
the other hour and 28 minutes will be just filler.
RIGHHHHTTT
True
The trailer actually leaves out a major part of the plot. Have fun! :D
No, nothing from the book
This book broke my heart. Will I still watch? Yes. yes I will.
Does it end sadly?
Is her friend real?
@@hannahdawidowicz9627 No, it ends realistically. Neither overly pessimistic/sad or optimistic/happy.
Saw it Saturday at the LATFOB preview. The movie is very much true to the book; the few changes (IMO) actually made the story better, incredibly.
