Just wanted to let James know that I make theme cakes for my adult son on each for his birthdays. Last year I made a beer glass. He never knows what he's going to get, so he's always surprised.
So just incase you do this kind of gorgeous cake again, remember the head comes off & you can style her hair then put the head carefully back on🥰 LOVE YOU GUYS ❣️
Did you guys forget that you can remove the doll's head and wash the hair? You an even use a hair straightener to smooth her hair down, then use gel or hair spray to keep everything in place. But do this before you have to put her on the cake, and keep the body separated to avoid cross-contamination. She is so pretty! You did a great job guys!

I made an Elsa doll cake for my nieces 4th birthday this year. I tried finding Rosana Pansino's pan with the 3 pans but it was sold out everywhere and maybe discontinued. What I made turned out better than I expected. I was afraid it would look like a Pinterest Fail but my niece loved it!
When you crumb coated the cake I thought Hotdog coated in cream cheese 😂😂. Oh going to the Prom and the Oscars does that mean she's going to the Proscars? Beverly's gown looked delicious. When I was a kid my Mum bought me an ice cream cake dolls dress. The ice cream was disgusting (not one kid had more than a spoonful). Only bonus was once washed thoroughly I had a doll to play with.

This is unrelated but I think I remember you talking about how you have no disrespect towards grocery store cake decorators. This summer I have been working part time in a grocery store bakery and let me say I gained so much respect. She decorated in a corner I had to pass by every minute or so and I swear each time I looked she was on a different cake. Say what you want about grocery store cakes but those cake decorators are literally insane.

I just about cried when you cut her dress, it was so pretty!!!! Also, a little trick for doll hair if you ever try to do something like this again (I watch a lot of people who make, and I am learning to make OOAK dolls), if you get just a little bit of warm water and spray it on the hair it should be easier to fix. Also, a small metal chopstick or knife heated just a bit works similar to a curler/straightener, but that should be done safely if you go that route. Of course might be a bit much for just a doll cake, but suggestions nonetheless! 👍
This is so amazing! I had a cake like this when I was, I think 5. My grandma made it and it was too pretty. I didn’t let anyone cut it and it ended up rotting. 😞
