hennie Kru idk if u can compare Kendrick’s conceptual work to a movie soundtrack. You may be able to compare this to SFFB tho, since Tyler said he wanted it to sound like a score
I feel like Black Panther is gonna have a fight scene with kings dead in the background. And they’ll have a character die in a stupid ass way right when Futures high pitched voice comes in.
Artistic_but_Random Yeah I know and you can tell which tracks aren’t gonna be during a scene. Like there’s some tracks that you can hear in the movie but others just sound like some ending credits.
Great reaction/review to a good project. I'm South African, thought I'd help a bit...in Redemption, that "Kikiriki kiki" part doesn't mean anything, just a vibey chant. That "Poverty, jealousy, negativity" part in Seasons basically goes "Poverty, jealousy, negativity...awuna ndawo lana...go away" meaning "...you don't have a place here, go away". Great to see a few of our own working with TDE on a project this big!
I don't know if you caught it, but throughout the album Kendrick doesn't just say that "I am Killmonger" because sometimes he says "I am T'challa" that when it comes to the end of seasons it brings both ideologies together. Meaning we can identify with both mindsets at times. Just in case it wasn't brought up to you. I didn't see it in the comments yet. Great review as usual, though.

Lord Escanor I know it’s been 2 years but do you still want to know? I can tell you but I ain’t tryna type it if u ain’t gonna be active and not read it😂
This album truly feels like Kendrick and TDE just went ahead with 100% creative control and made an album that just happens to also be the soundtrack for a huge movie. It's fire.
This comment is really funny to me. How could you hear this album and think Kendrick had "100% creative control" if you've heard anything else in his discography?
@@ziggle5000 cause he put all his homies on the album, including a lot of underground artists who Marvel would never reach out to on their own. Plus a lot of the songs have pretty weird moments or features on them, especially Future's legendary King's Dead verse. I mean yeah a lot of the songs were catchy and poppy, but so was half of DAMN.
That part with Future is like you just wanting to hang out with your friends and then your mom makes you hang out with the weird cousin that nobody likes, and you think he might be cool *this* time, but then he starts saying some dumb shit that's not even funny.
Did no one catch, "You gon' meet Ja-Maica (Your maker), I won't say it in Patois(a language spoken in Jamaica)".... MY gooodness! Ab-Soul's bars are wild I'm so happy someone finally agrees with me that Ab-Soul is the best lyricist in TDE
Aiden Wood also a fun fact is that Soul played a bigger part in Pro Era's paths. He is credited by Joey and them for getting them interested in psychedelic rap and stuff. He is sorta of to them what Lupe is to Ab-Soul.
i don't think i've noticed you speaking this in depth about music before. stating exactly what things you liked or disliked about the track and i really like that. keep up the great work congrats on 210K

Good Review. I give it 8/10 because I love the SZA & Kendrick song for the movie. Plus rap artist have been recycling old lyrics for hooks for ages. Only bad song is Pray for Me and that sounds like it’s meant for the credit roll at the end of the movie.
Bloody Waters was my favorite track on the album. Lyrically miles ahead of the rest of the album. AB-Soul is so damn good and he’ll never get the recognition he deserves, but I feel like he’s cool with that. I’m pissed you didn’t catch the “Its warfare is war fair, no.” Line
Bro, this is low-key a Kendrick album. Each song rolls right into the next one but you didn't really get that since you pause the tracks so often. I didn't hear the soundtrack like a typical soundtrack. Just a bunch of random yet similar tracks for a movie... This was a thought out, well planned project. This is an album
I feel like this album and its songs are kinda putting us in the perspective of T'challa(Black Panther) and Killmonger (Black Panthers nemesis) hence the reason for him to say "I am T'challa" on some parts of the album or say "I am Killmonger"
I know that you’re a music review channel, but I’d like to see your opinion towards the actually movie coming out and your views towards seeing how the music fits with the actual film. Idk if you’d be down with it, but It’d be great tbh.
on Seasons, the first verse is by Sjava, a South African hiphop/soul artist. he's singing in isiZulu, the language of the Zulus. THe message of the verse is basically, they told me I'd never make it, but here I am. And as such themes of poverty, jealousy and negativity show through in a zero- hero success story.
This is like Kendricks version of Kanyes Good Music album. Except its for a movie. Kendrick needa drop more posse cut albums like this where he the executive producer. You can tell Kendrick had a huge part in puttin the songs and album together
Just a quick side note, Kendrick actually says “All Hail King Killmonger” in king’s dead which I think is a little more interesting than the I am Killmonger part later in the soundtrack because it shows the level of support he received from the people of Wakanda in the comics
I find the khalid track to be an absolute vibe. It doesn't do anything special or bring anything new to the table but i don't think all tracks have to. Its a very wavy song that just feels nice.
at 17:08 the song is part is zulu, a language from south africa and also to add a fun fact, its language that marvel added into creating the wakanda language for the movie as its based on several african languages...
Shawn Cee: *Literally nuts during the song*
After the song: *Eh it was ok*
Brandon Byrd I notice that too. He over listen and took the fun and meaning out of the songs.

Tee grizzley would've went off on Paramedic that beat is made for HIM. Also Kendrick should've had an actual verse he would've bodied it
Nathaniel Stewart
But he didn't Body any track on here
bruh Tee Grizzley uses that bay area flow course he would go on a beat for bay area artists.
James Perry king's dead yes he did

That song was boring AF
Kendrick bodied King’s Dead and Black Panther

i wasn't expecting it either, but it makes sense cause kendrick had Zulu refrences on To Pimp A Butterfly

Aiden H You are too dumb to be allowed to use the internet
Ill pay for a shawn cee best song reactions compilations,
I feel like this album and its songs are kinda putting us in the perspective of T'challa(Black Panther) and Killmonger (Black Panthers nemesis) hence the reason for him to say "I am T'challa" on some parts of the album or say "I am Killmonger"
dυeyoυrworѕт that just may be true
Isaiah rashad didn't get kicked hes just working on something else like how jay rock waz working on his own project n got on kings dead by accident
The Jorja Smith track sampled Drugs You Should Try It by Travis
I wasn’t messing with The Ways but it gets better every listen
I know that you’re a music review channel, but I’d like to see your opinion towards the actually movie coming out and your views towards seeing how the music fits with the actual film. Idk if you’d be down with it, but It’d be great tbh.
i was in the description looking for the song with future and i couldn’t find it until i saw “Ciara’s Ex” lmfao
On the note of 15:25, seeing as to I live in Africa, Babes Wodumo is an South African artist who makes...well...African house music etc.
Glad to see SOB go off.
Shoutouts to "King's Dead" in the description
Leo Reyes hah Ciara's Ex
The best way to start off the short month of black history
on Seasons, the first verse is by Sjava, a South African hiphop/soul artist. he's singing in isiZulu, the language of the Zulus. THe message of the verse is basically, they told me I'd never make it, but here I am. And as such themes of poverty, jealousy and negativity show through in a zero- hero success story.
“Ciara’s ex” in the description 😂🤦🏾♂️
I saw an early screening of the movie and it's the best marvel movie by far. The cast is amazing, the plot twist is great, and all the above
Future, Imma need you to "La di da di da."
This is like Kendricks version of Kanyes Good Music album. Except its for a movie. Kendrick needa drop more posse cut albums like this where he the executive producer. You can tell Kendrick had a huge part in puttin the songs and album together
This music project is perfect for the theme of this movie... 10/10 KDot kills it again
Just a quick side note, Kendrick actually says “All Hail King Killmonger” in king’s dead which I think is a little more interesting than the I am Killmonger part later in the soundtrack because it shows the level of support he received from the people of Wakanda in the comics
The Weeknd sounds like Michael on that pray for me 🙏🏽🔥
I find the khalid track to be an absolute vibe. It doesn't do anything special or bring anything new to the table but i don't think all tracks have to. Its a very wavy song that just feels nice.
Its one of the best on the album, Shawn was trippin
the disappointment @ 14:45 subscribed lol
at 17:08 the song is part is zulu, a language from south africa and also to add a fun fact, its language that marvel added into creating the wakanda language for the movie as its based on several african languages...
All the Stars might just be my favourite track on this project due to Ken's verse and the amazing video
it changed on the album :D
