- I journeyed to the hottest place in the world, during the hottest time of the year that I could've possibly gone- in the dead middle of the Summer. The Danankil Depression is located in Ethiopia, close to the border of Eritrea and Djibouti, Africa, in the Afar region.
It was so hot but the experience was so incredible. It was a three day journey where we saw some of the most unusual sights I've ever seen. There was lava, volcanos, salt flats and one of the most mesmerizing places called, Dallol. It truly looked like we traveled to another planet!
The Danakil depression is the lowest and hottest place on earth with temperatures soaring well into the 100's. At times, I didn't think I could take the heat any longer, but then the landscapes kept me going. The views will blow your mind! This was one adventure in Ethiopia, I’ll never forget!

Good luck, I'm from eritrea and we have this place in eritrea too, we call it Dankal in our language but in English Danakil, some ppl die or go crazy or get sick there. There is this disease that makes you go backwards in these types of areas, I thought they were playing when ppl say you go backwards instead of forwards, but it's actually true.

It's so difficult to tolerate such extreme heat, even for a minute. The potential risk of dehydration is high. By the way, these landscapes show us the raw power of nature and the deep beauty created by those minerals and volcanoes. Many thanks to you Zann for documenting another amazing and risky adventure.😊

Beautiful I am glad you doing your research because the guy who told you about evading Eritrea, is not true; their government cultivates the new Eritrean’s the way he wants to stay in power, the young Eritreas age 30 and below are so different than age 35 and up. Do your search you will be surprised. The Tigray in Ethiopia learn this tactic changing the truth history from Eritrean; they were fighting together attacking Ethiopia there is a juicy history if you want to learn good luck beautiful enjoy and take care of yourself

I am very happy in your journey as you cross more challenging land features. Such as in Tigray region (eg.Mt. Debre Damo) and the lowest point in Africa (Afar region).Next time if it's possible come and visit the eastern Ethiopian cities, such as Dire Dawa and Harar. In Dire Dawa, you will get a chance to see the old cave known as Laga Oda, and out side there is an ancient city called Harla. Similarly, you will be able see the holy city in Muslim World, Harar, the wall of Harar, and there are also many beautiful land features. ❤🎉
