I visited the Royal Hawaiian in 1972 when I was in the process of enlisting in the US Navy. My father was a bell boy (BB) in his younger days at the Royal Hawaiian and I wanted to take the time to visit it - beautiful hotel. We have pictures of my dad and other BB staff In their uniforms. I took hula when I was a little girl and now think back wishing I continued. Born on the Big Island and raised on our ranch, but like many Hawaiians have lived off the island. I call Tennessee home 46 years. Mahalo nui loa 🌺

We stayed there 2 years ago and it was gorgeous ! Their signature coffee and pink pancakes are delicious and so memorable ! Yoga in the garden was so peaceful . We were there at Christmas and they gifted us a lovely mini , ceramic pink palace ornament to take home .. which I love 💕

I have walked by the palace several times, but sad to say never got the chance to enter. Next time I’ll make sure I have time to see this beautiful place.

Aloha. I saw the Pink Palace many years ago on my honeymoon, when I was fortunate enough to visit the amazing islands. I hope that if I ever get to go back I get a chance to stay here. Mahalo for showing us the hotel. I must join you on more hula adventures.😍

Like I said, before, I have never been to Hawaii. I hope to go on my 30th birthday. Now as for the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, I would love to go there when I get married.
I am so glad you are back and can’t wait to learn more hula! Have stayed at the Royal Hawaiian many times while living in Kailua for 14 years and attending galas next door at the Sheraton Waikiki, where my husband hosted tables for his company, Aloha Petroleum. The Navy leased it during WW II, and my father stayed there in between submarine war patrols. How can I get one of your IHula Hawaii bags? Are they for sale somewhere? I have been out of hula for a while and want to start back but not in a live Zoom hula class. Life threw us
two curve balls. My husband battled bladder cancer for 10 months and is now cancer free. I hurt my leg (an old injury) but now think I can start back at my own pace with your hula videos, which I loved when I discovered them. We really miss living in Kailua since my husband’s retirement from Aloha Petroleum in 2019. We’re back home in Alabama near our daughter in Mobile.
Thank you for sharing. I love Kailua - itʻs a beautiful place and you truly do still have ties here to Oahu. I did read about the hotel turning into a rest point for the Navy in WWII. Wow the stories you must have!

We only saw the Royal Hawaiian from the outside in 2010 while walking along Waikiki Beach. It was impressive. We did not go inside as we were not guests. We didn't know if we could have just gone inside to look at it.
Yes, anyone can walk in and enjoy itʻs shops, beach and restaurants. Mahalo!🌺
