I have done A LOT of repairs (although I don’t usually mess with the chips, but I am about to get into it, just to know it) but I am having an issue that I have never had before, IF I put a famicom game in it, it goes to the first screen, but it won’t go any further after that, I put an actual North American game in it, and zilch… nothing… not even the opening game screen. Any guesses as to with it is? Yes the screen is black when I turn it on. I also subscribed… and you are great at what you do, not everyone gets 100% there’s are some things that just can’t be fixed. But yeah! You do great work man!
Try the burn in test cart to see if it helps you diagnose a bit. Some games with a bad sound chip or a bad cpu will post to the “licensed by Nintendo” screen and lock up. Also make sure the game cart is going in the proper way, I’ve had game pcbs out of their shell that I’ve mistakenly inserted the opposite way before. Your issue could be many things. Great job on these repairs. One Question. The burn-in cart you have is very rare and expensive. Do you have a list of games that I can get that will allow me to test all the functions that the burn in cart tests for? I saw in a couple of your videos you like using Donkey Kong Country and Mario Cart.
My burn in test cart is a repro :) You can get one off aliexpress. Mario cart and donkey Kong country are also two games that work decently well to find chip faults.

@@PunkNDisorderlyGamer Any reason for using 60/40 over 63/37? I hear 60/40 has a "plastic" stage where it's kind of half way between a liquid and solid, but 63/37 is either a liquid or a solid, so it's easier to work with.
