- September 2023 saw the CSCC race meeting at Oulton Park (Classic Sports Car Club) which provided many thrills and spills from an eclectic range of cars and championships, all racing on the limit at the Cheshire circuit.
In this video expect a little look around these historic racing beasts in the paddock, some qualifying action and plenty overtakes, incidents and drifts from our brilliant turn one view.
My classic racing car favourites included a gorgeous Triumph TR5 and a TVR Griffith which sounded as beautiful as they looked, among a grid of Ford Lotus Cortinas, Jaguar E-Types, Lotus Elans, MGBs and more!
This video covers action from the Mintex Classic K, the 2 Adams & Page Swinging Sixties groups, the Liqui Moly slicks challenge and more exciting championships and racing cars.
If you like historic racing then please take a look at the channel homepage for similar videos, such as the 2023 Autos de France meeting.

Bit of a change and even more enjoyable, Harley, with all the sounds of gusty exhausts and screeching tyres. Well done! I do so enjoy both ypur and father's videos of the classic era.
Rob
Thanks for highlighting my sideways moment in the black MGB number 12 at 28 mins and 30 seconds!
Greetings from the States. I appreciate yours and your dad's videos. (23 hit curb to cause the spin)
Thanks for watching!
Hi Harley great video there's nothing better than being there at the races an having a good time Harley Martin 👍👍
I'm commenting on this because it came up on my internet. I loved the old classic cars at the beginning of the video. It transported me back to when my father would take me to car racing at a place called Ardmore here in New Zealand. So around 1966 for a year. There would be Ford Cortinas just like the ones in your video , Ford Anglias , Minis , and a few Australian Fords and Holdens. A couple of Jaguar Mk 2 models would be amongst it too. Just like I remember it when i was a lad.
Another great one Harley well done
you should be here for the big race at Bathurst next weekend ,cheers
I think the biplane is a Bucker bu 131 . There's a pair of them based at Sleap airfield. They're epic!
Yes, this one often flies over the circuit, one of the two is a Bucker Jungmann I think, and one slightly later maybe from the 1920s? Not too sure, but they do make cool sights!
@@CarTractionvids I saw two of them at Sleap last Summer. Pretty sure you can hire them out, be a front seat passenger. I'll suss 'em out next time I'm passing.
They look so cool.
I think #23 was at fault, The tapped car seemed to be holding it's line so I don't think he was at fault. You captured a good action shot though. And you were right, that Volvo is very quiet compared to the others.
In NASCAR, drivers are known for “tapping “ eachother out of the way [ and purposely]. I personally do not like it.
Great video.
📻🙂
Didn’t miss me by much that 😳
Great cars on a lovely circuit. Black X denotes the driver is new to the particular class the car is in. He may have been competing for years, but will require 10 signatures on his licence, indicating he has driven competently, before he can remove the X. 23 should have backed out, or held his line, 73 had nowhere to go, having passed 23. No one had a problem going inside the white beamer later in the vid.
Thanks for watching
What an excellent video Harley and watched first this morning. My first comment hasn't appeared for some strange reason. Some excellent sounds and action shots. The Series 1 E Type number 3 sounded fabulous and should have done better I feel. That Volvo is some machine.
I cannot understand why my first comment didn't post. Oh well hey ho.
Hi Harley 👋 I googled Ardmore car racing 1960s NZ. What comes up is a Facebook image of cars racing at the Ardmore track that I mentioned in my message to you. It shows a photo of cars going around a bend . There is a Lotus Ford Cortina spinning out , a Ford Zephyr and a Jaguar Mk 2 racing at the front. That's exactly how i remember it. The photo was taken in 1965. So Google and you can see what i went to back in the day.
Good video, shame about the title! Motor Racing is a 'non contact' sport! "Rubbin" is both dangerous. and expensive.
