These reporters don't understand the Miami Heat and it frustrates them since none of them have reliable sources from there unlike other teams. Pat Riley would never trade a star mid-season
Great video! The number of 'experts' I have seen floating absolute nonsense trades has been shocking. They literally just look at random salaries and try to match them up. They don't look at value. And they don't even know what picks teams have and which ones can be traded or not. They will say, and Team A would need to through in a couple of picks. Completely oblivious that Team A doesn't have any picks they can trade.
Also these trade talks coming this early is just a way to create buzz. Specially since the narrative for the past few weeks is how the NBA is dying in terms of ratings and overall interest.
5:03 everyone seems to overlook the fact that The Heat passed on Beal 2 years ago. It's been widely reported down here that the Heat had/have zero interest in Bradley Beal. They'd go ahead and extend Jimmy before they'd take on a similarly-high dollar contract for a different aging star who isn't even as good. They'd want some significant assets coming back to even consider taking on that contract, and Suns don't have it - nor can they aggregate players in any trades.
@ I thought Beal was the only person with an actual no trade clause. I get it there’s probably a few players in the league that have enough pull in their organization to essentially have a no trade clause but is Beal not the only player in the NBA with a no trade clause in their contract?
Thanks for stating the obvious. The only way ANY of these trades being possible is if the GM's are actively trying to ruin their teams. The only one that's likely to change teams is Jimmy, but GSW and Houston are the only likely destinations...
Well, that is partially true. That depends though on just how petty Pat Riley wants to be about it. He could engage with the Nets or Wizards to see what they would give up for Butler.
Honestly, the interest regarding NBA is so low that only a possible Lebron trade might raise some interest. Lebron to the Warriors, Lebron to Phoenix, Lebron to Dallas o Lebron to Denver.
Most of the nba trade rumors are bs mostly to drum up clicks. This year, even more so since teams are terrified of the second apron. The only way i see ball being traded is if a team like okc just cashes in stupid capital for him and makes them an offer they cant refuse.
Agree. There is no way during this season that any of these trades are happening. Some might around the draft or once free agency starts. Miami might want to get rid of Butler, but they aren't going to get anything worth Jimmy Butler back right now. Not with a contender. I could see an unexpected team come for Butler. Like Denver or Sacramento. Though I don't know why the Kings would go with Butler when the players they really need is Dorian Finney-Smith and Robert Williams III. Granted, I don't know what kind of trade package they could put together for Williams if they trade for Dorian Finney-Smith. Contract wise, it isn't hard to put together a trade for Finney-Smith. Cam Johnson would be a little more difficult and require the Kings to play a lot more with the finances to make it work. Not even taking into account the draft compensation. As you have said though, they have done some weird trades at times and it is possible they might do so again. If they did go into rebuild mode, I see that happening in the office season. Because it would mean taking a horrible contract like Beal or Poole for most trades to work and get any value back. My hope is the Kings will make a logical move to get better and turn the season around. If they do go into rebuild mode, then they need to do so in a big way. It means Fox, Sabonis, Murray, DeRozan and Monk would all need to be traded off. Of which, I am pretty sure a lot of teams would be excited about the opportunity to get any of them in a trade. It would have to be all 5 that went out though. For a rebuild to happen fast at least. Because the team is going to need some picks that have a good chance at landing in the top 5. I am just not the type to trade one player off and signal a rebuild. Make it happen with many people. Get as many picks as possible so over the next 3-4 years, you can grab a ton of players, kind of like the Thunder have done as well as the Jazz have been doing. Stockpile the picks. Take on bad contracts.
I don't think I agree with the "power" argument regarding a potential Lebron trade. He does have power, but he doesn't need it if he knows he's retiring very very soon. All he needs is a decent team to content, and that's not happening with the assets the Lakers have. Not to mention the Lakers don't seem interested in moving their future 1sts, and there's a reason for that.
The "Lebron runs the Lakers" is just so absurdly dumb. I love your channel, and it's ok if you dislike Lebron as a player, or even as a person. But to just say something like that and assume everyone agrees it's true is BOLLOCKS. Every Lakers fan knows Lebron doesn't have power inside the organization outside of him being a normal superstar player. They never did the trades he wanted, for Kyrie or Demar, or now in the offseason. We've been waiting 2 years for a trade, even a minor one. JJ Redick yeah, he was his podcast buddy, but anyone with a brain KNOWS he is way better than Darvin Ham, plus many people said AD was the one that wanted JJ and Lebron wasn't even involved in the process, said by insiders. Oh and Lakers drafted Bronny because of Lebron? 😱 No Way Bro‼️ I didn't figure that out. And miss the chance of making history⁉️ Oh just the one dude who is selling the most Lakers Jerseys this season... That's right it's Bronny James. Sadly for the haters bronny has already generated 50$ Million just for the Lakers, he deserves his now guaranted money, and he is developing at an incredibly rapid pace in the G League. Not bad for a guy who was just drafted because of his dad. Last point, many teams were interested in drafting Bronny, for example the Warriors who were really interested, so that denies that type of misinformed takes. SL please just don't say stuff like that just rage baits people. You are way better than that. Most people like your content because you don't clickbait. Stay that way
You are not the GM. We don’t know the inside out of trades negotiations, we are just speculating. If Butler ends getting up trade to the Suns, I just know you are going to be backtracking. Im okay with people analysing trades and believing a trade is unlikely, but people fronting and stating that a trade is not happening as if they are the ones making decisions for each organisation is infuriating to say the least.
Also bro who cares which team can give LeBron a title, the lakers shouldn’t trade him based off that… they should try to gut the other team that gets him
All this Jimmy noise is funny. He's obvously gonna either opt -in or opt out and re-sign for a more team friendly deal with more years. No one's giving him the max😅
If the nets can get Zion Williams and have him sit out out and then talk Bradley Beal into the tank this season and grab cooper Flagg then I can see some type of trade
LeBron should finish his career playing for a mediocre Lakers team, typical for him to want another title but his selfish interests are in LA (Bronny???, JJ, multiple business interests} Rpckets or any other contending team should avoid him and Jummy Butler
The Lebron trade talks are just a distraction from his previous poor play and increasing noise from the Diddy allegations and PED rumors. Like for real. Literally no one in their right mind would believe Lebron gets traded in the middle of a season.
i don't believe the diddy shit but he clearly did the same shit he did in cleveland were he was play like buns took a vacation mid season to "refuel" and came back better 😂
@Ash38122 yeah that's why I said allegations and rumors. But personally I do believe that time when he was in Cleveland, and then he want to Miami for like 2 weeks, was for sure him getting more of that balco. Also most likely the same reason for him missing a couple of games recently 😂
If jimmy wants phx and says he wont resign with any other team what option does miami have!! Think logically. Why would any team trade for him if he says i wont resign with you!!! Jesus christ, how do you cover the nba and not realize that!!!
They would let him WALK! If the only trade Jimmy wants is PHX, and the only way to get that trade is by taking Beal back, and there is no way for Butler to sign there in FA, then Miami doesn't do the deal! You are the fool!
After this video and last trade video I have to tell UA-cam "Don't Recommend Channel" because these trades are sooo stupid making each team involved worse or just catering to Lakers and Lebron's fan and even they probably think it's stupid. IMO I don’t see Butler getting traded this season period. He is 35 He last played 65 games in 18-19. He is earning just under $49m this season which puts him near the top, rules out most if not all apron teams etc. He has a $52.5m player option which he will likely opt out for a cheaper albeit long term new deal. He is somewhat a difficult player. In order to trade for him, teams will have to give up an absolute package (to match salary or get Miami interested), essentially gutting the team and removing them from contention. Miami is one team that actually won’t be in a bad position if they just let him walk. In top of Butler, Robinson has been playing well and could opt out of his player option for a longer deal, Miami likely opt out of Rozier too. That could give them $100m off (less new Robinson deal), or about $90m in cap space (less Robinson deal). This is far more attractive for the Heat, surely.
@ there’s roughly $15m difference between their salaries. Without over complicating the trade the Kings would need to include Huerter (no big deal as they are wanting to move on anyway) and the Heat Josh Richardson to make the numbers look okay. But why on earth would the Kings want to this trade? DeRozan, Butler, Murray all basically playing the same spot. Josh Richardson becomes their best point guard?
Uhh, I’m a lifelong Cavs fan. Not remotely interested in Butler. Too old, too expensive, and too weird. In case you haven’t noticed, we’re 24-4.
