Haven't seen anyone or anything online with my issues. I need to replace it with manufacturer warranty if software update doesn't fix it. When taking a picture after viewing the pic it shows horizontal lined pixels. Only visible on pics when zooming in.
Find it intolerable that a phone that cost $1200.00 should have any kind of issues that need fixing right out of the box. Any device that cost $1200 should be perfect unless someone drops it on the ground or drives over it with their truck. And this holds true for not just Samsung devices but Apple and any other brand.

This is the worst phone I have ever purchased and there is a lack of in person technical assistance in some NYC retail stores. They just do not have technical support. You have to do this over the phone with an assistant and that took 40 minutes and I still don't know if it solved my Volume problem as the volume adjusted up and down and sometimes. I cannot hear the phone ring from my client phone calls.

I learned early on that Samsung was not everything it was hyped up to be.
Tho I started out on android, I’m a firm IPhone user today.
Also not being a heavy phone user I get by at work and home nicely with iPhones that are a few years old.
I stopped bothering with anything android when I discovered that the largest majority of the apps I used most frequently ran better on my years old iPhone 7+ work phone, than they did on my one year old android. Brand I can’t remember because it’s been so long.
That iPhone that was foisted upon me by work forced me to use one.
I learned that even old iPhones are better that new android phones.
If pictures are important to your job I’d recommend the newest iPhone you can afford.
Myself. I almost never take pictures. At work occasionally, and the 7+ camera does good enough.
If you are Real estate or comparable you might want a 11 pro/max or newer. And a case! Always no matter make model brand or what planet your phone comes from. Use a case.
I anymore just can’t justify putting good money on android phones. And particularly Samsung.
Hi priced, bloated software that can not be removed or disabled.
A launcher that is larger that the android os on the device.
Can’t pay for that.
I absolutely hate they changed the side buttons, it is so hard to take screenshots quickly.

The only big problem that I have and a lot of people has it's the battery, drains super fast. And it is a $1300 phone!!! I hope they fix it soon. Great video!
Ya I have this problem, I have turned off and turned so much down. I ended up buying a 10,000mAh battery case for it.
Not the only problem I had. Plus does not recognise fingerprint (I have screen protector but still...) and it is slow. Huge failure
I have same problem, I get 5 hours screen on time max. Even with lower screen settings (what's the point getting this than)
Same here and charges slower too ,I only had it for couple of days tho so far not impressed

I live in the UK so have the Exynos variant. Have had my S22 Ultra from the 21st Feb so five days before release day. I have used my phone exactly the same as my S20 Ultra, infact probably more during this 'honeymoon period' lol.
Where my S20 Ultra's battery would run out late afternoon my S22 still has around 48% battery left at the same point in the day! So the battery is far superior... with the same settings too (apart from adaptive refresh rate obviously)
That is being up around 0415 for work untill around 2100 at night.

No lag experience either myself.. watching movies, playing games, using it for work etc. Absolutely awesome.

Man it's crazy how different everyone's experience with this phone is. My battery life has been horrible since day one and it's also super laggy.

There is a big improvement in camera department/ image processing. I compared my s22u exynos to my old s21u . The photos when in indoor light are finally looking great.
The slow shutter speed is the same as it is on s21u. If you take a burst shot on moving subjects,you might get a decent pic.
My only issue with my s21u, is that the mobile data drops and only airplane/ restart would make it work again.

Hi Jeff! Nice video. I have a S22 ultra and I have this issue on taking pictures at night. Pictures taken on my Samsung s22 ultra are dark and it's not what they claimed it to be. I compared the shots to my Note 20 ultra, the shots I took with the Note are always brighter. I updated my software to the latest version before checking the camera.

@@MF_OXF thats a major issue. Everybody gets on their test with a exynos chip about 8 hours.
@adre51 the battery may be still learning your usage depending on how long you've had the phone now. If your phone isn't defective as I've heard a couple batches are, give it time to learn.
Hello Jeff, in your honest opinion should people looking to upgrade their phone get this S22 ultra or iPhone 13 pro max?
The main issue I have, and it seems to be a long term Samsung bug that nobody has ever solved, is that images get jumbled up in apps.
In gallery I'm sorted by date and it's fine. When I use an app, like one I use for work that I need to upload job site photos, the images aren't sorted by date or file name or anything. It changes daily. Most of the time the last day or 2 are at the top and it's fine but every now and then today's images are scattered throughout my other 5000 or so images and its impossible to find them. It happens on Facebook and messaging sometimes. I had a look today and they're fine but normally they are jumbled.
I will say if anyone has an s22 ultra and wants that lightning fast processing speed just pull down the menu and hold down processing speed for 2 seconds. It'll allow you to adjust how much power to use for gaming

When I use edge lighting I can't swipe to answer calls. What's the solution besides disabling edge lighting or using another notification app?
Coming from an iphone 8 plus, I thought I would be thrilled with this phone but there are some really big issues I just can't get over. We have two snapdragon copies and the issues are there on both. The worst for us, by far, is the choppy video recording. If it was just during the actual recording, I wouldn't care but I can regularly reproduce the issues with videos that are choppy on playback and that's unacceptable, even if it only cost $400 instead of $1200. If you want to test it with yours, go record regular or portrait video and move the phone around quickly while recording. The choppiness is intermittent so you may need to do it a few times to notice. You don't need to move the phone around a lot to make it happen, but it does help you to see it better. Another totally separate issue - video playback is a little choppy on Vudu/UA-cam. This is the kind of thing I wouldn't notice if I wasn't coming from an iphone (even my 8 plus) but man... it's so damn obvious after the smoothness of the ios ecosystem. App animations are stuttery as well... switching accounts on gmail for example - why the hell should a $1200 phone show a little bit of a hiccup in animations in switching email accounts. Again, if I wasn't coming from an iphone, I probably would never notice these little things but I've come to expect that kind of polish now with my phone experience and this just does not feel polished. If I was the product manager for the S22 Ultra at Samsung, I would have done everything I could to delay the launch and fix these issues.

I noticed the same thing with front facing video playback. The video plays like there's a filter overlay that doesn't match up with the actual video. Samsung's quality has gotten progressively worse over the years, while iPhone has gotten better
Great video! Oddly I'm currently having an issue where my lock screen isn't able to be in landscape mode. it is grayed out when I drop down my "auto rotate" any ideas why?
What I'd love to know is how to get the red bubble notifications that appear on apps to automatically turn off after you launch the app and read the notification, (if you can even find it) Those bubbles seem to pay no attention to weather I've read the notifications already. On the iphone, if you just launch the app, they turn off which is a much better experience.
any idea gow to fix the tiny screen when trying to use smart view... can no longer cast to tv without screen shrinking and having to restart device l, to return to normal size

Thanks for the video, great tips on the battery usage that I'm implementing. I am having issues with charging, that's actually how I stumbled on your video. Wireless charging is slow and often fails, I think it's because the camera is so big and I have a camera sleeve as well so maybe the back of the phone isn't touching the wireless charger correctly? Also the phone doesn't seems to want to charge using old USB wall adapters, I am going to look in the manual but Im wondering if there's like a minimum voltage or amperage rating the adapter needs to be for the charging to work.
Are you using a case by chance when charging?
@@jspring86 no but I am using a protector around the camera, it came with my case and it's a bit harder to take off and on than the case. It probably only adds a few millimeters to the width of the camera though, doesn't seem like much.
Always been a fan of your work Jeff... Thanks for bringing it up.. One quick one - the "Shutter Lag". How do we deal with it? I haven't seen it yet - on an Iphone or a G-Pixel or even a Sony Phone... How does one take those pictures of specific moments with the kids and Pets, with that shutter lag?

Coming from an iPhone originally, I finally had to return mine for the Pixel 6 Pro and I love it! The Samsung UI is simply awful.
Are there things to improve? Sure, but at least there's no junk on the phone bugging up the UI.

my problem is if im using 3x or 10x zoom/lenses, it always switches lenses if it gets "too close" to the subject..is there a way to make it stay on one lens and i'll just move further if it cant get to focus?

Hey, is it possible to keep the brightness up?
As a person who loves to do a lot of picture taking and recording during vacations there are just too many things with this phone I cannot deal with or tolerate an issues a phone of this quality should not be having. I can't understand how models from 3 years ago are outperforming this ultra 22. One thing I noticed right off the bat was how short the battery life is. Secondly there's literally a 5-second freeze that happens when flipping the from selfie to the front camera while recording and let's not even talk about how blurry things are in the background during any movement while recording especially at night. I don't know if that's a fyp issue or what but it ruined the quality of my videos I recorded while on my recent vacation. This has to be addressed ASAP or I have to change phones
The phone has been lasting me about 15-16 hours per charge with about 7-8H SOT, it has definitely improved since day one.

thanks for this video. I already find out how to adjust app screens as I am not a fan of the curve screen of s22 ultra because some concerns: privacy and prone to major scratch. This is just my opinion.

Got my new S22 plus about 3 weeks ago. I upgraded from the S10. I have experienced 3 separate issues since having the phone. First while using the phone it locked up and gave me an internal server error. Secondly at times the screen view would shutter or shake in an up and down motion. Lastly the touch screen completely locked up and didn't recognize my touch. I could still receive calls and text, the buttons for volume and other features continued to work, but no response from the touch screen. I tried doing a reset and power off, but the screen didn't recognize my touch. After not being able to use the phone for about 30 minutes it suddenly flashed a few times and then began to work as normal. I contacted T-Mobile and Samsung trying to get a replacement phone as there is obviously something wrong with the one I have.

Great stuff. But if I spend on a flagship phone like this, I'm not going to cut back on features. I want the max on everything. The phone gets me through the day, and then I charge it at night. Let's see if future updates, that are supposed to come, will fix some of these issues. Don't get me wrong; I'm not knocking on your advice, it's just my way of reasoning.
Agree with you entirely, as I said in the video, many of these things I don't use. Just tips for people that want to use their phone differently.

So what's the fix for the Fast wireless charging deal? The charger I used for my S10 would support fast charging no issue. I heard it's a software issue from the recent update. Any fixes so yet?
You can also save battery resources by turning off services such as location, NFC, and bluetooth when they are not in use.
Sure yeah , I just hate turning off all features on such an expensive phone.
@@jspring86 that's where bixby feature helps a lot..open certain apps(example map, it will auto turn on / off the bluetooth) using bixby)

@@thewiessman go to routine to your phone, then set any apps that you want the location and Bluetooth to turn on, set it when you open the apps, the location / Bluetooth turn on, when you quit the apps, it do the reverse thing. Find routine sir.

That's a much trickier issue to fix with software sadly.
In India new 45 watt Samsung EP- T4510 charger still not available.
Some Samsung retailers advised me to buy 25 watt charger instead of old 45 watt charger for S22 Ultra, because of less heat & better battery health. Is it true ? Or should I go with old 45 Watt charger ?

My issue is notification sound vs alarm sound. I turn my notifications low so I'm not hearing constant chirping from apps and emails but now I can barely hear my alarm in the morning. Then need to be separate functions.

I thought when you were into the camera issues that you were going to cover the video camera. There's a real issue that for those who bought this camera for filming find problematic and that is stutters and lags. I'll have the video freeze or just be black while my audio keeps going on playback. I've had lag when filming where I press record and give it a second and it will still cut part of my beginning by half a second. I wonder if there's a fix. My provider has already sent me a second phone and same issue. I've noticed this mainly with the selfie camera.

FHD only very noticable during game which causes most battery drain and lag. the best solution is to use bixby routine and use "if" "the during game and" set display to FHD. Enjoy your WQHD for other stuff which have minimal impact on battery and performance

Are these issues exclusive to the S22 Ultra, or is it also for Plus and regular? Because I've been playing a lot of emulators (PS2, Wii) with Bluetooth headphones and controller and I don't have any lag on it. I've also been making videos in 1080p 60fps for hours at a time and I don't have lag or battery issues. Or maybe I got lucky with my phone?
I had the galaxy s22 ultra. 2 issues I had but 1 forced me to send the phone back today and maybe I'll upgrade back to the ultra in a couple months..1st thing I noticed, from 100 to 85, that battery would just drain fast as F. And once the battery hit 10 percent, it was like having 5 percent.... 2nd issue, the phone was stuck in a reboot loop, when my screen was off and I wasn't using the phone it would just keep rebooting itself over and over. I did everything recommended included over 4 factory resets and that still didn't work. I'm sad about sending the phone back but I guess after a few batches of releases I'll probably get a good device.

I'm having issues with calls sound. The speaker sound like it's your breaking up when your in network and have good signal. It eventually clears up but happens a lot. I hope it's just a software issue.

How to fix the noice from the speaker when calling out?
I get noise from the phone when making calls, sometimes.
I switched off and on and the noise stopped. I could do the call after that.
When calling out saying HD call
What about the volume? Volume is low with my ear buds, and in my car. I'm coming from the note 20 ultra. I have adjusted all my volume settings, including developer mode volume limit.
