Ridley Scott is one of the really dispensable big directors, but is so much fun to know someone with 83 is still rockin' and full of energy as a filmmaker.
I agree with both reviews. I was initially excited to watch this movie after my intense wait for its release because I wanted to find out about the crime and what/who lead Patricia to murder her husband but instead I ended up more confused with so many missing facts. Moreover, instead of feeling satisfied, I ended up more frustrated than before watching this long movie that had too much fluff and not enough substances. I rated this movie a 1.5/5 but I'm so glad to know that I'm not the only one who gave it a poor rating which I believe this movie truly deserved! Mr. Scott must really love his wife who produced this movie & the one who selected the writer. Apparently, it was the 3rd take on the written script to finally start filming this movie after 20 yrs of waiting to get it right. It probably needed a 4th or 5th to get it right!
Just came from watching. Movie was too long, I fell asleep several times. Based on this review, I didn't miss anything. What a disappointment. Great review as always guys. Happy Holidays! 💜
Hands down the best review thus far. I was expecting a campy romp and I literally fell asleep. Twice. Agree on every beat you hit upon. I don’t understand the praise from the majority of reviewers. It’s like they want to say they like the movie because it’s Gucci, Gaga, and they want to be in with the cool kids. A fantastic opportunity was wasted here.

I saw this film when it first premiered in theaters. And Just like your review, I was so disappointed in the movie and cast, but learned a lot about this famous brand. It can’t compare to the brilliance of Ryan Murphy’s Versace series.
Judgment freezone, I re-watch this review multiple times a year since the day it was posted. It always leaves me in stitches. I came back to this review after looking at a preview of the film "Ferrari." I am not sure why directors are obsessed with Adam Driver in a "Super Mario" brothers or better yet "what Americans think Italians sound like accent." I think in 2024 the general public is smart enough to enjoy a movie about real life people in the native language of those the stories are based on. Get actors that actually speak Italian to play these roles are make the Americans learn to speak Italian before the film is shot.
Klimt is an amazing painter. That painting was in an la museum, (I think), and they had to give it back to her … I could be wrong about it being at lacma, but I remember them having to give the Klimt back to that woman. Klimt’s work is unreal. I love it.

This story has "greek tragedy" written all over it. I needed rich dialogue and monologues. I needed a Shakesperean play. Didn't need Jared Leto tbh.
I actually didn't hate this film but after listening to your review, I definitely see where it missed the mark in a lot of ways. I too would've liked to have seen what happened at the trial.
