Beautiful
As a Brit living in the US and who discovered Opie & Anthony in the last 2 years, I've been exposed to a huge number of American comics in that time. Jim Florentine is one if my favorites, he's a fucking badass who's hilariously funny and doesn't give a shit.
Rant on!
Love Florentine stories!!!
That elevator story was one of the funniest things I've heard in forever
Fucking awesome. "Why did I do that?". Because Jim you were driven and that's the attitude that got you where you are today. Took risks, did whatever you could. Respect.
Mother: "Jim, your eyes are red. Are you on something? Why are your eyes red??"
JF: "They're red from the smoke bomb."
Which was a half truth- twas the bomb smoke!!!,,,🤘😎🤘
21:14 the long pause after really paints the picture
I remember going to concerts back in the 80s. It was awesome. He's right about the weed. The whole place is filled with weed smoke and there are joints going around the entire crowd both ways. Everyone is drinking. Smoking, toking, and more. The chicks were amazing, cool. Everyone was laid back man. Not this woke, uptight bullst.
"Opening for Slayer was like MC-ing a RAPE." That made me laugh more than I have for a long time. Goddam brutal :)
I met him at ROTR we drank together (and the manager from Papa Roach was there for some reason) but it was a great time and free drinks!
I’d buy a shirt.
this guy is so funny. I think these are better than the crank calls
"I still have 642"... now that made me laugh.
like any stories someone is trying to recall from 30+ years ago, add in being stoned and shithoused.....it has to be taken with the idea that hes filling in the gaps and slight exaggeration is going to happen. but they are true stories I'm sure with a little added like any story. cool to hear as ive got some similar myself....remembering is a whole nother story.
God only if you only had that watch when you and Norton were pissin next to Ozzy.
I never get people that say marijuana didn’t do anything for em and then they act like booze is just amazing. Glad I’m not that way.
Booze wins hands down, except for the vomiting
Ya weed is pretty amazing. Basically everything about it is better than alcohol. A beer buzz every now and then is cool i guess.
No nick dip podcast this week ?
Not yet. Sometimes they are late like Burrs.
Jim, you were 16 during the 1994 Woodstock?? Born in '78 I assume? Damn, you're young. I always thought you were about my age or so, (born in '62)
i was at Woodstock 94 and 99. I was 18 for the first one and I don't recall seeing Jim there.
Jim's full of shit. He just turned 21!
"Opening for Slayer was almost like emceeing a rape." What a fucking brilliant line. Hahaha
This episode is amazing. ,,!
That Sunrise Musical Theatre was a great venue, I saw some great shows there. Too bad the Jehovas Witnesses bought the place.
I love Jim’s podcasts
TMS was as important to Metal as Headbangers Ball
"The Piss Seat"!......lmao
Great story teller!
25:14 that's the funniest thing I've ever heard
THis is SO TRUE. The beginning about his first concert. My first concert was Blue Oyster Cult w/ Brownsville Station. People passing joints back and forth down the row. Total strangers. I was 14 High AF. My first concert. Speaking of HEAVY...the heaviest thing my metal head friends listened to was MOTORHEAD No Sleep Till Hammersmith...that was the heaviest shit around in 1981.
Metal led the way to drums and alot of kitty for me..
It's 2021. You have any shirts left?
3 fuckin tshirts is damn good for an opener!
"What BAD Childhood"?
Jim Florentine was born in 1964 and he said he was 16 when he went to Woodstock 1994. You guys do the math lol.
Matt Answine hes full of shit
He said "I wasn't even 16 at the time" meaning he was much older so there is no excuse for his behavior.
he literally said he was 15 seeing ozzy with randy rhoads who died in 1982
you were alot older than 16 in 94
Holy shit, laughed my ass off
