    Helpful resources:
    TouchOSC | hexler.net
‎TouchOSC on the App Store (apple.com)
    REAPER | Download
MIDI Continuous Controllers - reference chart - Sounds Like Joe
    Open Sound Control (OSC) (mcgill.ca)
If you have questions, shoot me an email at Steve.sullivan.songwriter@gmail.com
The first 4 steps to get started:
Purchase TouchOSC, the new version, on your apple or android device.
    Download TouchOSC Bridge from hexler.net
Download new TouchOSC for desktop for your OS
Download ITunes and install on your desktop/laptop
Next, Decide if you want to connect via USB or wirelessly.
If USB, plug in your ipad/iphone.
If Wifi, make sure that your iphone/ipad and computer are connected to the same router.
Check your firewall settings and allow anything related to TouchOSC, your DAW, Bonjour, and TouchOSC Bridge
On your ipad/iphone, under the linked chains icon connections:
    On the MIDI Tab:
Check mark connection 1 and click browse to find your midi bridge for both the send and receive port.
    On the OSC Tab:
Checkmark Connection 1, choose UDP as the type, browse for your host IP address (the ip address of your computer) Send port: 8000, Receive port 9000 Zero conf: LogicTouch
    On the Bridge Tab:
Checkmark connection 1, browse for host IP address (the ip address of your computer)
    On your DAW of choice:
For Midi information: Dynamics, Vibrato, Expression, Keyswitching, or literally any MIDI CC#
Go into your settings/preferences and make sure TouchOSC Bridge is a midi input, enabled for input and control messages. Also make sure it is selected as a midi output. This is your bridge for just the midi information.
For OSC information: DAW Control, play, stop, record, click on and off, fader control, pan control, sends control, mutes, solos, etc.
For Control Surfaces, create a new option using control surface mode OSC.
    Device name: whatever you want
    Pattern Config: LogicTouch
    Mode: Configure Device IP+Local Port
    Device port: 9000
    Local Listen Port: 8000
Device IP: Your Iphone or Ipad’s IP address
Local IP: Your Desktop/Laptops IP Address
On your track that you are trying to control with both a midi controller like a keyboard AND touchOSC to control dynamics/vibrato/keyswitching/literallyanyMIDICC, then make sure your input is both the MIDI Controller AND TouchOSC Bridge, or if those are all you are using, you may be able to select ALL Midi Inputs.
If something isn’t working, here are the top things to double check.
Make sure your touchOSC bridge is really running. Double click the black icon with the white B on it. Nothing will seem to happen, but if you check your taskbar you will see its now running.
Make sure you press the sideways triangle play icon on your touchosc device, this is like live mode where doing things actually sends.
Double check on your ipad/iphone that you are connected to the currently active midi bridge by pressing browse for both send and receive.
Double check on your ipad/iphone that you have the OSC IP address and ports that match what you have on your control surface setup on your DAW.
    Install itunes and/or Bonjour
Double check your firewall settings, and enable send and receive from any port that has to do with touchosc, bridge, or your DAW.
Try connecting through USB to see if that works.
Don’t smash phone or computer, seek professional help.

Desktop to mobile export info at 50:30 is what I’ve been scouring the web for. Couldn’t find this basic info in any tutorial or hexlers manual. Been driving me crazy. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

@@MuddyRainMusic you'll have to check it out! I composed an entire album with it. Basically allows you to switch between articulations on the fly, and input articulation changes as events. I'll link a video below

Hello is there a way or a specific patch inside Bidule Plogue to route OSC messages as midi inputs (for example a vst that work with only midi). Somewhat Thirdy party app as osc to midi transaltor?

I have no idea, but there is a facebook touchosc group that I feel like has way more advanced users than me that might know the answer to your question!

Amazing video. I’m wondering how can I get values/data/knobs positions back to TouchOSC. I kinda wanna make templates for my most used plugins and I want control the plugin from the templates but at the same time I want the templates get updated in real time on any change I make in reaper, I mean, returning back all the information to the TouchOSC.

That is a great question, I know there is a way at least to get things like track names and fader values, although it might be above my pay grade. I'll look into it and let you know if I figure it out!

I see some guitars behind you. Have you tried to use the application to control and tweak your guitar pedals? I see some great use cases for this to work alongside a pedalboard midi controller/ switcher where someone like myself has midi controllable pedals.

Hi Steve, a lot is making sense after watching your videos. Thanks a lot. What i'm wondering though is if there's someone outhere who can explane how to start from scratch a new template that deals with multipage. I'd be much obliged if you could give me a hint ;-)

Am I understanding this right? You purchase the app on the iPad for $10, then the license on the computer for $18 totaling $28?

Yes, app for 10 but the computer one is free to try with unlimited features. I usually just built templates right on my iphone instead of bothering with syncing.

Is there a way to get the values back to touchosc from say like Ableton. For example I want to have the scene names appear on my touchosc app each time I load a new song into ableton. That way I don’t have to manually type in the scene names with my buttons.

I bet there is a way, but I'm not certain how. I will look into it and get back to you!
