Light to Dark Cockpit & Canopy Reflections | Battletech Detail Painting Tutorial

- Опубліковано 17 кві 2021
- This is a demonstration on how to paint the cockpits on your miniatures with a reverse order method that reduces the brightest colors first as you work to your darker ones. It's a great way to prevent having to do super fine edge or bright spot painting at the very end of the process that can sometimes be the most stressful part of painting reflections.

If I recall correctly there was a post a while ago that you got Covid, so I hope you are feeling better and welcome back!
I find executing good cockpit glass effects probably the most tricky thing when doing Battletech miniatures so these tutorials help a lot. I would love to see is a tutorial on the two color cockpit effect, I've seen some minis on the Camo Specs site utilizing it and they are really stunning.
Accidentally deleted my first reply but thank you for the kind words. I recovered fully and my hobby time has been a lot less with work and home life getting back to normal. I’ll keep bugging Brushido about a two tone cockpit tutorial so hopefully we’ll get one.
@@CamoSpecsOnline I just came down to the comments to express interest in EXACTLY the tutorial you just metioned. good to hear you're feeling better and kicking goals.
Nice something new to try. Thank you again for doing these they have really helped
You are so welcome!
Did you demonstrate how to paint that mini?? That's freaking AWSOME!!!!
Thanks. I haven't yet, I need to though.
This is a really neat technique that I will try soon. Thanks for sharing this.
Nice video and something I will try on my next cockpit, thanks!
Damn I love these videos as there are plenty of techniques that I didn't think of using... I definitely am gonna use them on my battletech miniatures
Great to hear that!
Well done Sir!
Superb!
Great video, I got to try this one day. And that metalic camo is awesome! Would love to see how you did that
Thanks! I did film the process but it's been back burner for a while due to the amount of work involved. I'll get to it eventually!
Great I'm looking forward to it.
[Mike] Great work as always :)
Thank you!
Get back to teaching your youngest how to paint lol
Absolutely great.. how do you keep your brush so perfect in shape and pointed?
Thank you. Some folks are harder on brushes due to the amount of bend they induce with their brush strokes and that can advance the wear. Avoiding paint in the ferrule and I don’t use this brush for metallics. I also use Drunken Brush Goop from monument hobbies to clean and after use condition and reshape them. You also have to clip frayed or damaged bristles periodically.
Is there any place to commission or buy some of your work or work of a similar quality?
I (B1BFlyer) don’t take commissions but several CSO artists do. You can message us at our Facebook page if you have an artist in mind. We also have a lot of artists who frequent “Battletech Painting and Customs” on Facebook as well.
Where do you get these models?
At first they were a limited resin run which are sold out, but they're now available from Ironwind Metals. ariesgamesandminis.com/index.php/shopping/product/4827-ryoken-stormcrow-tc-b.html
