If I only have the two fairing speakers, is it better to Bridge the 4 channel amp to get the fullest sound out of my speakers? Amp is 600W, 330w RMS @ 4ohm while bridged. Speakers are 200watt RMS
@@volunteeraudio I am a home DIY’er so naturally I don’t have an oscilloscope. I do have a DD1. I checked the GTS Unit through the amp and didn’t find distortion until 2 ticks from full power. So I set the gain on the amp with the DD1 and the amp bridged based on that. I was very interested to see that the signal gets distorted somewhere before the half mark on both front and rear channels. I walked it back a tick before that. Head unit on 75% power. Then set my crossovers to HP, and dialed in the Frequency using a song I prefer, until I no longer heard the mid bass 6.5’s rattling through the lower frequencies (sub bass). It’s very loud and very clean. My concern is blowing the speaker, but since the amp gain is set to a safe level and I know I shouldn’t pass the 75% mark on my speakers, I should be fine, correct?
@@volunteeraudio That’s correct. I used your you tube 1khz -5db track to set my final gains. I am taking the bike to get the head unit flashed this morning. When I get back I’ll reset my gains and tune it for the final time
I have a question about amp gains. I recently switched to cicada 65.2 and 69.2, 2ohm speakers and my arc audio moto 720 amplifier can run in either 4 or 2 ohm settings and I noticed with the volume all the way up to 50 and gain turned all the way down my DD1 hooked up and the 1khz@0db test tone playing, as soon as I switch the amp to 2ohm the distortion light comes on with my DD1. What should I do? Turn the volume down till the distortion light goes away and then turn the gain up or what? I also have the hdhu9813 head unit.
Your always supposed to start with the gains down and turn the radio up til you find where it distorts. Then you repeat this with the radio at its max before distortion and do the same with the gains. Make sure your eq is flat when you do this.
@@steve.newcomb that’s exactly what I do. Flat EQ, gains all the way down turn radio up to the red light comes on but with the hdhu9813 soundstream radio max volume of 50 doesn’t distort but even with the gains all the way down and the EQ flat at max volume as soon as I flip the switch to go from 4 ohm to 2 ohm the distortion light comes on without even touching anything except switching the impedance output switch… Don’t make sense to me
Here is your issue, radio is clean to 50 but the moto720 can only handle the input of the radio at volume 42, it does not handle enough input voltage. So go to volume 42 on the radio and set your arc amp there. You could get a hertz sp4.900 and it handles enough input voltage to go all the way to 50
@@steve.newcomb we only use rca for subwoofers, speaker level is a stronger signal, and will not pick up noise from led lights, and noisy charging systems in Harley. I’m not the only one either. Every major company that builds a system for Harley uses high level inputs.

Thank you!
I’ll be on a video at some point. Glad you got him squared away.
Looking forward to it, thank you for watching!
Great Vid Volunteer Audio with my guy Tall and his Brother in law.
Thank you!
Great videos. I'm in the process now of upgrading my audio.

Awesome video! Just sub! I love that setup. I'm afraid to ask how much something like his setup would cost. Good job!

What would be a good 6x9 saddlebag speaker that’s waterproof?
Hertz sx690neo, infinity 900x or precision power mas694

There are alot of factors but overpowering a speaker only works when you set the amp
Perfectly clean with an oscilloscope

Is there a difference between the Soundstream HDHU9813 and the Soundstream Reserve HDHU9813?
They only make it in the reserve line, price is the same everywhere but with Volunteer Audio you get free lifetime tech support and the best warranty
I’m looking for an amp rack for my 2020 road glide. I’d like to have it above the radio in the fairing
It mounts below the radio, behind the headlight ua-cam.com/video/qC3Y_lNFVWQ/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared

Is Jay ever gonna do anything for Indian ?????
Maybe, still waiting on a few future products to be released for Indian
Why do you not utilize the RCA outputs? I just redid a bike that you did and it was the same way.
