Nice job... I've always wanted to play Pretty Woman. The Complete Guitar Series has definitely helped with picking these lessons and riffs up quickly. Thanks for the continued guitar education.
Thank you so much my friend. I really appreciate hearing from you. It always fires my soul when I hear of a student's progress and joy in learning & playing. Please, stay in touch. I look forward to your comments. e :)
Thank you for doing these videos! You are an excellent teacher and talented musician. I would love to take actual lessons with you, but these videos are great. Thanks, man!
You are so welcome Katie. And thank you so very much for your very kind words. Well, I have you as a virtual student :) & I appreciate you so stay in touch! e :)
Thank you so very much. :) I have been wandering the corridors of internet for a looong time, lol, and seen many tutorials and teachers - but I must say that I haven't seen anyone who is better at actually teaching, than you. But what amazes me more than anything is that you actually take the time and make an effort to reply to comments! That, I think, shows your character more than anything, and it shows that you really are a teacher. And for that, as well for many, many things I learned from you, I thank you once again. Keep rockin'! :D
Milos.....you have really made my day! I feel so blessed when I receive a kind , heartfelt comment such as yours. I love teaching and getting feedback like this really encourages me. Thank you, thank you! Please, do stay in touch and let me know how you are doing. e :)
Erich - Top shelf lesson - probably the best rendition of Pretty Woman on UA-cam. Your talents are only exceeded for your love of animals. The world needs more good people like you... (I salute you)
Thank you. I very much appreciate your kind comment...on both counts. And yes, I love, honor and respect all my fellow beings and recognize their right to a peaceful life...a life without cruelty and one where they need have no fear of man. There is a perfect balance if we respect that right. Peace....e :)
That chord between the C and the F#m (at 7:46) is a C# diminished (C#/E/G/C# again on top, which is enharmonically an A7 with the 3rd (C#) in the bass). Also, where you mention wanting to add that seventh on the C chord (7:26), try going from C to a Csus4 (from the straight C chord, raise the E on the third fret 4th string to an F) then back to the C (resolve the F back to the E note) and see how that feels to you. EVH accentuates that little suspend/resolve by chopping it. That suggests an F chord, but you only have to change one note...sweet. Good ear and lesson. I have my rock out... 8>)
Awesome lesson. Just found you while looking for the strum pattern for this. Have subscribed :-) You put the info across really well and I picked it up first time so I was just thrilled. Thank you so much.

Hey I like your cover you were spot on with the riff that roy plays so spot on, but the second chord you played F#m is the barre version but what chord does roy play he has some strange version he plays do you know what it is and what the chord is called?
I've been trying to play this song for years. I had the rift down, but never could figure out all the course part and the second section part. Thank you very much for showing us that... if i could offer some advice that would be very helpful to us. maybe you could put the cords of the song in the video description that would be great reference material .. Thank you again I'll have to work on this now :)
I've been playing a guitar for a year now & I Got the riff in 5 seconds.... Thanks for doing a tutorial for this ! Now I just gotta get the chorus down. It's funny the chorus seems a bit harder to memorize then the riff hahaha
What do you call that type of strumming or whatever in the intro? I still dont know what it is, Ive seen my friend do that alot of times but I can't catch up.
Excellent lesson, tho isn't it easier to play the d string open in the opening lick instead of the 5th fret on the a string? It feels more fluid that way
I love the riff in this song. Deffinantly an old favorite. This reminds me of the movie water boy where Henry Winkler had Roy Orbison tattooed on his butt and showed it to Adam Sandler lol.
This guy is going to the 5th fret on the A just to hit a D note when all you have to do is hit the open D string. Some ppl just like doing things the hard way.

Bam! Watch this my friend and you will: ua-cam.com/video/H8uxxU6wL68/v-deo.html
I think your riff is the most accurate "toot", based on RO's old video.
What's handy is when you know how to play this, you know how to handle 'Day Tripper'....
:) Keep on rockin, my friend!
e :)
I love the riff in this song. Deffinantly an old favorite. This reminds me of the movie water boy where Henry Winkler had Roy Orbison tattooed on his butt and showed it to Adam Sandler lol.
