- We’ve been staying cozy in our off grid cabin during a couple of windy snowstorms. After the storms we were met with some much welcomed sunshine. I also got a good deal on a 4 wheeler. #diy #winter #homestead

This is a good book. Does provide a step by step introduction to how to build things ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 , also does offer some steps. Includes pictures to give you ideas for layouts and such. If you are looking for a guide, this is not exactly what you want. But if you are trying to familiarize yourself with the way that pole barn building and other out buildings, are made, then this will work just as you need it to. A few things in this book are a barn (of course), detached garage, storage building, and coops.
That 4wheeler is going to be life changing. Can't wait to see this season's updates

Me too! I sure am someone who can’t criticize, but I’m old. I too hav been wondering her contribution. I’m absolutely sure she does, but it’s nice to see her help Kyle. If you choose to live like this ya gotta have a partner who will and knows what’s in stake. I even hated to say this, but I liked seeing her more active too

Instead of throwing away the ash, build a compost so you can use the ash and grass, and some food left overs to generate some quality soil for growing food...
This winter has been crap. Not sure how much you guys ended up with up there, but down here in the cities we got North of 80"? Maybe 82"? Think it put us in the top 10 for Minnesota winter snowfall. To say I'm over it, would be an understatement. Thankfully the forecast is looking to be high 30's to mid 40's every day now.

Beautiful spot you guys have there. My dream life for sure. With kitty outside please remember coyotes, wolves, mountain lions and eagles/owls could come for her and that would be no good.

You're lucky you don't have the snow cover we have in northern Wisconsin. Town by me named Hurley has had over 200 inches this year. I probably won't see green grass until end of April.
That front veranda will collect lots of ssnow during winter anwo't naturally slide off due to the shallow angle.
Should have bought 2 helmets with it... be careful out here...

Please be careful with Kitty outside. With bald eagles, hawks, bobcats, etc, the hunter becomes the hunted. She can be gone in a flash.
Ciera needs a pair of welders gloves to add wood into the stove, no fun when you burn your fingers, I know
Get a strap and tie your ramp to the truck . Worst accident I ever saw was the ramp sliding out while unloading a four wheeler.

Kyle, you should always cut a notch in a tree before falling it. Balsam and spruce are notorious for having butt rot, causing the tree to barber chair. (Split and half the tree can rare up and kill you) I just lost a friend to this last summer. He never knew what hit him, it happened so fast. He never thought it would happen to him either. Please take all precautions when falling trees. I enjoy your content, and want to watch you for many years to come. I'm not trying to be a know it all, but am concerned for your safety, and we'll being.

DO NOT cut down trees like he does you will get hurt not notching a tree is dangerous. That thing will barber chair and come at you. I know your an Alaskan professional what ever but you seriously need to watch some tree videos of how pros do it . Other than that i enjoyed the video

That was a great snag on a four wheeler, they're getting all to rare as the people who own them, don't want to sell them. The fire lit cabin from the outside at night does look inviting, and Cierra looks like she's healing well shown by her axe wielding capabilities..lol 😂😅 Love ya'll ❤️

Regarding that wheeler, as I learned with the used Sportsman I picked up:
1. A plow is a god send
2. About $15 for a couple led pods for extra light is a must
3. Amazon, Anderson connector 2-4 gauge, for your battery. Quick disconnect, bring inside during winter. Take out, plug in and go. Save on battery wear
4. Build a little shed/shelter. Store the wheeler and some tools, protect from elements, helps starting in winter
5. Trailer trailer trailer. Watch Craigslist, similar, and can always find something. Ended up finding a 2000 Sportsman 335 and a 500 that I tinkered back to life. For $20 on each, added receiver hitches that can use pin and a 2" ball. Both can pull a little tilt metal trailer I found, a gorilla trailer, even a 6'x8' and the two wheeler trailers. Helpful on yard work, hauling etc. Smaller doesn't mean useless, especially when seeing hand pulling a sled all the time.
Lastly, a 12v accessory plug. If you don't have one on there, they're easy to wire up. Helpful for charging little things when out and about, etc.

It seemed like only yesterday when this 70 year old was 30 and worked outside all day with my loving Wife and now 40 years later I still work some and still have that same loving Wife.

Remember if you let your cat be an outdoor kitty, coyotes love cats. Also your right front tire on the yamaha is mounted in the wrong direction.

Great video Kyle! I've owned the same bike for the last 20 years and had great luck with it. Parts here in Nova Scotia are crazy expensive. Buy they are a fantastic bikes for getting in tight areas and nice and light of you get stuck. Cheers
You need to be careful with your kitty outdoors if you have coyotes around. They love to eat them.. We had lots of cats running around and then I started to hear Coyotes howling and within a month they all disappeared into Coyote food.
I thought the same. I would hate to hear that kitty got attacked by an animal. Please be careful.

Couple words of advice from an old guy, the ramp should have a chain, most do, to hook to the tailgate so it doesn’t fall out on the way up or down , good practice to use it, you can stand beside the quad , get it in reverse and let it roll down the ramp to the ground , no fear of it falling over on you , Safety First when you’re isolated like that , awesome video , keep them coming
