Please don't take weeks to post Part 2!
One of my favorite episodes, these big renos became normal later on in HI or HMIR but they were a special thing in the early Holmes on Homes series. Plus the daughter is super cute!

Had knob and tube in the half story, took ALL out (kept a little bit as a souvenir). LOL. House was built in 1914. Rewired. all with much better romex and installed new service panel with bazillions of circuit breakers. Fuses were the norm until that was redone. Much safer. So glad they took care of the deal here for this family.

Nothing left of the house except the shell. Factor in the asbestos removal, beam restructuring, new roof, and complete rewiring. They could save money by knocking this house down and rebuild new. I guess the insurance refused to write off the house and insisted on repairs.

Thanks for the breakdown! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?

The actual TV episodes came out 8 years ago, you can search Holmes On Homes - S05E08 - Out Of The Ashes, Part 2 and find it.

Im not suprised. This was rather early in the tv career, so this is probably one of the worst things hes had to deal with in his entire career. Oil contanimation can seriously mess up a lot.

I cringed and cried with the removal of the doors and radiators.😢😢 Forced air in a house that old? And new fake doors? Mine isn't quite that old , 70 yrs and I'd kill anyone making it a new cheap build.😂 I'm disappointed.

Same. I love the old doors, so beautiful, and the framing around the windows and such, and baseboards...'new' can be so ugly and cheap looking.

Never never get a contractor or inspector recommended by the real estate agent or insurance agent. They will do anything and everything they can do to spend the very least money and as fast as posssible. They won't care about codes or safety. Fast and cheap is ALL they care about.

Did they get the guys permission to film him in the shower ... Everyone there knows and consents to being filmed but not in the shower... should require separate consent forms

Calm down. It's obvious the guy saw the camera crew and knew they were filming on site. He wasn't as upset as you appear to be.

You seriously think they would air something without having permission. Do you know what kind of legal cost that would cost them? Give your head a shake kid. You severely need to educate yourself

if anyone disapproved it would not have gone to air
