This is great. I'm looking forward to finally updating my barely used silver metallic PSP that I hacked back when the pandora battery trick came out. It still on an old CFW due to the fact I only used that PSP for less than a month when it came out and never used it again after hacking it. I know, kind of sad that I never gave it that much love and attention due to playing on the PS2 or PS3 much more at that time. I missed out on that PSP gen and heard it had so many great games. Also got a brand new launch PS Vita that I bought two years ago and only turned it on to install CFW on it. I don't want to repeat the same thing I did with the PSP so now I want to go back and enjoy both of them. I know you can play PSP games on the PS Vita with that beautiful OLED screen, but I want to enjoy playing them on PSP first.
I was tearing my hair out as I didn’t understand why none of my emulators was working. It turned out that I hadn’t activated the custom firmware in Infinity 2 after installing it. Thank you so much for this tutorial! It was a massive help! 👍
Wololo! Magic :D I just bought white PSP in perfect condition from Japan and definitely apply this mod. I remember 15 years (or more) ago how i make Pandora battery and mod my and friends consoles :) Now it's time to play Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiidge Raaacer again! Good tutorial.

Very useful video, this is all it's needed to have a PSP running nowadays (tested perfectly on a PSP Go). Thanks!
I keep seeing videos about this but nobody clears what's the point of it? My PSP-2000 has been hacked for 10 years, running emulators and Homebrew just fine. What's new here?
The SektorZ having a psp with a low firmware will let you install permanent cfw. On higher firmware it was a tether cfw. Now they made a permanent one.
psp was working fine but now formware will never get permanent. any tips? i just entered the sense me chanels icon and the blue screen about reseting configuration poped up. I reseted them presing circle and tried the app again. The second time blue screen poped out again but after reboot, this time it booted on 6.61 infinit but no custom firmware pro. I had to put fast recovery on the sd, and i can boot back on the firmware. However boot configuration doesnt seem to work, i activated the pro c module but i cant no matter what i do, i have to run proc fast recovery every time i turn off the psp
That is an excellent tutorial. I'm already running 6.61 PRO-C on my PSP1000, so besides the custom banner with battery information etc, is there any advantage to upgrading to Infinity 2?
@ZETT. Please help. This (Infinity 2) works perfectly on my 3000 but on my 1000 and 2000, it shows up as PRO C infinity in system settings. Here's the tricky part.....All games(Isos and Roms in emulators freeze) I cannot access VSH MENU because select does not work. The buttons all worked when i was just on Pro C, including VSH. Is there a way i can fix this??I tried using Chronoswitch, but it just loaded up infinity again after i did the steps after running chronoSwitch. Please help, i have two psps i've bought memoruy cards for etc and they are king of useless since the buttons don't work in games.
i was wondering why it wouldn't show "6.61 infinity". didnt know by rebooting it was ment just getting out the app via ps-button...duh i hard rebooted.
I have the old infinity version and when I try to remove it via chronoswitch it just says "The same version of the system software is already installed. There is no need to update." What should I do?
I just did it today on my PSP3000. Look up a plugin in named "Dayviewer", this will add custom date&time and battery indicator + reamining time for battery. If you want it to also show up in-game, there's a different plugin named "DayViewer for game" - this one will bring up batter information and date-time while gaming when you press the home button.
Are we able to change our region from Japan to US using infinity firmware or is that hardware related? I hate that I can’t watch my umd movies on my new psp because it’s from Japan.
Run Infinity v1 Configurator, turn off Infinity for your chosen CFw, then reboot & uninstall CFw using the same version flasher that was used to install the CFw. That's it..... when you reboot, you'll be back on stock v6.61.
I tried to do this and something happened to my PSP Go. It can now run ISOs only in LME, but not in PRO-C. I don't know what happened. Please will someone help? I want to go back to 660 PRO-B10, but the Chronoswitch downgrader must have broken something.
@@jomon324 - Could be a bugged CFw. Why use Pro-B10? There's much newer Pro CFw versions. Try searching for this version, as it's all I use on all of the PSPs that I've personally modded: 6.61-Pro CFW-2015-02-04 MOD-2015-03-33. This version saves the recovery menu settings properly, in my experience. Use the Infinity configurator to remove the permanent CFw patch, then remove your old CFw using the same version installer, or you'll brick. I'm not sure if a pandora battery can be used to unbrick a PSP-Go, so only uninstall using the same flash utility that you used to install your selected CFw. You'll be back on official Fw v6.61 & can then flash the more recent Pro CFw using the new flasher that I just gave you the info for. I hope you get it worked out.
You can try to solder in a new microswitch. If the bad button is on a sub-board, just swap out the sub-board with the bad button from a scrap system with a good one.
Did you select a CFW inside the Infinity homebrew that isnt installed yet? If so, this sometimes happens that it tries to boot what isnt installed. Hold HOME when booting, this makes it boot into regular OFW + infinity. Then you can install the CFW you forgot to install.
PRO and LME are both similar. PRO has, in my opinion, a cleaner looking recovery menu. LME has customization options though, for different VSH menu colors and stuff like that.
Sounds like a loose battery. Try securing the battery in the system & ensuring that the battery contacts are clean (use alcohol on a q-tip) your memory card/reader may also need to have the pins cleaned. 3M brand mounting tape can be helpful for securing the battery & cover. I had to repair a friend's PSP, like this.

This is primarily for previously unhackable model, E1000 series PSPs.

This isn't for 1000 & 2000 series PSPs. Only 3000, Go, & now E1000 models.
It works for 1000 and 2000 lol

Isn't it enough to use the pro update and then the infinity?
I have the old infinity version and when I try to remove it via chronoswitch it just says "The same version of the system software is already installed. There is no need to update." What should I do?
what firmware is your PSP on? is it 6.60/6.61?
Use a newer version of chronoswitch and be sure to boot chronoswitch, not the 6.61 updater itself.

How and where did you get the battery percentage indicator on your psp home screen
This might sound like a noob question but are PRO-C and PRO-C2 different from each other?
I'm just wondering if I'm missing an important update.

HOW YOU PUT BATTERY PERCENTAGE ON SCREEN?
hope you see this after so long. can i use infinity 2 to make Cfw Pro permanent on the psp E1004 or only LME?
Good video. Thanks ^^
Hi, which one do you prefer between Pro C or LME?
Guess I need a PSP in 2020 boys!
Will it work with every version of the 2000 models? I read something about unhackable versions.
Hey bro link me that theme and how did you get the battery percentage?
what can i do then? Install games or what?
My home button is broken. Any way i can install it properly??
You can try to solder in a new microswitch. If the bad button is on a sub-board, just swap out the sub-board with the bad button from a scrap system with a good one.
What does this exactly do?
my PSP 2000 turned brick after infinity installation
hold r on boot
Or use Pandora Battery and Magic Memory Stick to unbrick your PSP-2000

Hold HOME when booting, this makes it boot into regular OFW + infinity.
