Hi you sound like me when I was young , so this may help . . . Many years ago I left my family and friends to chase a dream in a foreign land . I worked my ass off to turn my dream in to a reality . It never happened, but the reason my dream never materialised will surprise you . I had simply matured in to a young adult and my wants/needs/aspirations/dreams has changed , in pursuing my dream the journey had changed me. I no longer wanted to be the worlds best/most famous etc etc. I sat back one day and thought to myself “why am I training/practicing/learning for 12 - 16 hrs a day ? What would being the “best” actually mean to me ? Would it really be worth everything I’ve given up already plus all the hours of everyday that I’ve sunk in to my dream ?” I couldn’t answer my own question, so it was at that very moment I realised that it’s time to quit . So I did . However it turned out that all the sacrifices and a the dedication wasn’t wasted cos it gave me a brilliant mindset, I knew I would be able to overcome any obstacles put in my way . So I choose to enjoy life more, get myself out to meet new people and choose a career that I would enjoy, and yes I excelled in my chosen field and I still have a massive circle of close friends, I have enjoyed the path my life eventually took. So whatever you are striving for just remember that your own dreams may change whilst on your life journey and if they do then know that it’s not your dream that defines YOU, it’s how you enjoy your life that gives YOU the best rewards. Listening to this song over and over again I think i've pieced together what it means in my opinion. It starts off slow and majestic, almost like a city blooming and a king ruling over it, as is stated in the line that comes after: 'I am the king of my own land' Ruling over the city, nay, the land he has conquered. But there comes a time of siege, a time of drought and a time of starvation. 'A tempest of dust Ill fight till the end' Creatures that he once thought to be unreal and only in his dreams now 'dance' (fight) with him, and they keep doing so, now and forever. He declares one last time that HE is the rightful king of the land, and goes out for his last battle, strapping armor and a blade to himself. As the score picks up the battle rages on, the battle of mind, the battle against depression, anxiety, all creatures only thought of in his dreams. Finally as it all settles he looks over the battlefield, slain corpses of his enemies there, he has gotten through his depression, anxiety, whatever else he might be facing, and triumphantly walks away, almost smiling. TL;DR For me the song is about defeating your inner demons and regaining control (being king) about your mental and physical health and not letting stuff like depression keep you down.
There was never a time I felt more homesick then when I was on the opposite side of the US. I’ve never felt more excited to be in the airport then I was when on my way back to home. As the plane started its taxi, I played this song, and it was timed so perfectly. The plane accelerated down the runway right as I hit 2:25. I will now forever relate this song to home and to that majestic flight.

TL;DR
For me the song is about defeating your inner demons and regaining control (being king) about your mental and physical health and not letting stuff like depression keep you down.
It's so representative of King Louis XIV..the genius that often seems mad to everyone else. But his ideas of beauty were quite timeless

As the plane started its taxi, I played this song, and it was timed so perfectly. The plane accelerated down the runway right as I hit 2:25.
I will now forever relate this song to home and to that majestic flight.
Why does this song stir so much emotion in me. I can close my eyes and this music makes me see me fight to keep going. My emotions overtake me and my body weeps.
