If anyone needs Rich to be more in depth, he'd have to turn into Antman 🐜 and do the review while shrunken....🤣😂🤣😂. Rich your the gr8test! , but id like your opinion on which Buggy you prefer in comparison to the EB48 2.0 after you've broken it in.......RC 4 Life!
Nice video! It’s a nice kit to build, very nice parts indeed. The 0,5 is stupidly small. But if you see and feel the car, you feel quality! If you want a 1/8 scale kit, you have to take a look at the XE Elite for sure!
Ive had a heavy eye on this kit as of late. Im definitely going to get it but unsure as to when. Ill probably install a Tekin system in it as it not only matches the color scheme of the chassis, but is also a good quality system to boot. Ill probably go with a Protec servo or stick to Tekin electronics. I dont think ill race with it, but i also said i wouldnt ever buy a 5ive T. Racing does look fun, though tracks near me are very limited. Definitely will not be used like i use my other RCs.
Hello , thank you for your awesome videos. I know this video is a little older but if you can point me in the direction of what is a good 1/8th scale e truggy to start racing with? I do like the tekno, or maybe tlr. What do you think? I do have bashing rc vehicles but ready to have more fun with racing. Thanks …Elvis V.
I'd def. look at the ET48 2.0 from Tekno. Solid platform and I have several videos on my channel about it. The TLR is decent, but there's a few issues I just didn't like (the motor mount was a big one)
Likely very similar manuals then, just with changes to the Truggy sizes. I’ve seen train wreck manuals before.....this one just had a couple of bobbles
@@TheRCNetwork yes only a couple bobbles the kit was fun and I followed Ryan Dunfords (from TLR) live build. That helped a lot. And thank you for your awesome build videos as well. I really love this channel and your presentation .
Rich, enjoy watching all your build vids. You did a build I believe on a B6.2D and you went with Proline black spoked wheels instead of the solid white or chartreus. I can't find that vid. What Proline wheels and tires were those. Thank, Mike
Hey Mike, thanks for the nice comments...the only 2wd AE buggies I've done were the B5M and the B 6d, nothing past that. I don't believe I've ran black wheels on a 1/10th scale before....might be someone else's video
@@FahmiSani-q6l I covered everything that came in the box in this video. Bit to answer your question, this is an electric only version denoted by the “XE” in the title. Also, to clarify, this is a kit, so it doesn’t include any electronics.
Very nice Rich 👍🤓🇦🇺 Are TLR the only company left that still use imperial measurement, and mix it with metric. 🤪 Interesting motor mount and steering assembly. Love the diff seals 😍
Are the highend racers stronger than your average basher vehicles. What are the differences ? And why do most people run a 1900kv motor and not more aggressive sensored motors. ?
1900kv is the sweet spot for most 1/8th scale buggys on 4s (which is the limit for racing). As for the difference between a racer and basher: 1. Durability is usually better (racers don't want a DNF) 2. Adjustability is much better - you can tune the geometry of the car more on a racer 3. Quality of parts - you will usually see higher end materials used like machined 7075 aluminum vs stamped 6061 (softer material), carbon fiber and better plastics
@@TheRCNetwork losi forgot to include the arm shims TLR244046 something like those. losi sent them but its weird that there was nothing in the manual about it
I just built my rear clip and when I turn the rear diff there is a tight spot with a slight grinding noise for about 1/4 of the rear diff circumference. Any thoughts?
Honestly, Tekno EB48 2.0 - easiest buggy to build, built like a tank, no upgrades needed (besides an aluminum servo horn) and drives great. Hands down best on the market for beginners and pros
It all depends on what you’re looking for. TLR has a larger racer network and parts distribution....so if you break something, it’s more likely that the race track will have a part and a racer there to help you out. I’d say the quality is really close on both. Durability, I can’t comment on TLR, as this is my first 8th scale kit from them, it the Tekno’s are tanks.
@@TheRCNetwork and are you basing this on handling characteristics? Or durability ? I’m trying to decide so I’m just curious why you dislike the associated and what makes the Tekno the best ? Thanks
A Tekno manual compared to TLR manual... what a difference. I just think you buy a Tekno to learn and then a TLR too win. Dont get me wrong I love my Tekno but TLR just seems to have that racers edge.
IMO - Tekno has an edge on their manuals.....mostly because I like the written dialog for shock building and such. TLR does have a much larger network of racers though....you can't deny that
This is a great option....but a bit pricey if it's your first. Also check out the Tekno EB48 2.0 - a bit cheaper, but no slouch of a kit. Either are super easy to build and outfit with electronics
Chapstick really?I bet they don’t tell you this in the manual?! Can we just get everything we need including information to make the build better in the kit? This is why 50% of people are not entering in the hobby! Too many secret build styles that make a big difference? Just saying!
I learned about Chapstick from Jason Snyder like 5-6 years ago. Supposedly, chapstick won’t break down the plastic like black grease could. Tekno’s manuals actually state to use chapstick!
This is not a first-timer Tamiya kit. Yes it takes 5 different hex drivers that you and any "Pro" buggy builder will have on hand. I'm surprized that you did not complain about not having included tires that would not work on you track.
I don't think I implied it was a beginner kit - sorry of it came off that way....but honestly, does a .050" driver belong on an 1/8th scale? Most 1/10th scales don't even have that. I also have a 1.3mm, a 0.9mm, but I wouldn't expect to use them on here. Really on the tires comment?

Sounds good - make sure and watch the next video, as there's a missing item in the owners manual I caught and showed in the reveal video
Thanks Rich!
0.50 mm is ridiculous!........even my micro multirotors, weighing under 50 grams, use 1.5 mm at a minimum😎
Yeah, I was surprised on the 050 - I can deal with the 3mm though. Thanks for stopping by, buddy!
The shims for the center diff are shown on the parts breakdown in the back. They are needed in order to stop the diff from sliding in the mount
Yeah, I found that out after the build.....you’d think it would be in the step on building the diffs, right?? 😁
Yes. Why put in the exploded view ughhhh
