We are truly blessed. After becoming an orphan in Poland during WW2, my dad began working for the U.S Army during the Berlin Airlift. He emigrated here and immediately joined the U.S. Army, even though he was not yet a citizen nor could he speak English. He fought in Korea for a year a half, returned home and worked hard to achieve the American dream. He passed last year, but Memorial Day was a favorite of his and I'm thinking of him right now. God Bless you, Dad, and God Bless the Uniter States of America! ❤🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

My sister, E5 WAS HER FINAL RANK, in the VIRGINIA NATIONAL GAURD. IN VIRGINIA BEACH, BEFORE SHE, AND ATTACHMENT WAS SENT TO WASHINGTON DC, 9/11 HAD STARTED. AND HER AND HER ATTACHMENT WAS FULL BLOWN U.S. ARMY. WHEN THAT SHE HAD TO GO ALL OVER THE PLACE TO GET TRAINING BEFORE OPERATION ENDEAVOR HAD OCCURRED. SHE WAS SENT RIGHT TO IRAQ AND KUWAIT. SHE RETIRED AND MADE IT, to HONORABLY MEDICALLY DISCHARGE. as of 2005
She passed away 2019. Unexpectedly
But she was LAYED TO REST IN MOUNTAIN HOME NATIONAL CEMETERY. WITH FULL HONORS.
I would like to say a big thank you to your Sister for the sacrifices and for the freedom that we have now. ❤️

Our soldiers line up to be remembered
As the best of the best at their job.
They wish to be needed and depended on

My father was a WW2 vet and a Korea vet. He killed himself in 2000 and his death hurt. I selfishly decided not to have a funeral for him and now I live with having denied him that last bugle call of taps and that folded flag. Forgive me, dad...

I hate to say this...but honestly you shouldn't say Happy Memorial Day...it is a day of remembering our troops that lost their lives....just had to say that. There's truly nothing happy about it...it's a day of remembrance and honoring those that gave theultimate sacrifice....our true heroes now angels above. Lisa Chaser20 I absolutely agree with you, many people think Memorial Day is just another ordinary holiday taken for granted, doing whatever they want, yet forgetting what the true meaning of Memorial Day is. I used to be like that because of my ignorance, and treated it like another normal ordinary holiday, but know I’ve learned fully my lesson, and that this is a day of reverence and of utmost melancholy, nostalgia, and of pure grievance. Remembering all those loved ones we all lost in battle. Sadly this is what our country nowadays has become, a country that’s forgotten it’s core values, morals, and ethics. But at least there are still people that take this day of grievance very seriously, because it’s of huge importance. Sorry 😢 if this is too long of a post, but I just had to share what I felt, and May GOD console everyone who are still hurting inside, these wounds are so profound and deep. And May GOD comfort those still longing for their loved ones with his love, abundant grace, and mercy. That’s all. Never 👎 ever forget those that went to serve and protect our country, because they did it for love, honor, patriotism, and from the bottom of their hearts.

Lisa Chaser20 Those that decide to criticize you have no brains at all, wasting their time feeding off of others, draining people's energy. And no, you absolutely shouldn't feel guilty of what you said, cause I stand by it too as well. I saw a video that even shocked and fully depressed me, even thougn I'm part of the "millenials" group as they say, at least I know the meaning of memorial day, those that were interviewed and asked didn't, I myself couldn't believe it myself, that almost most of all millenials didn't know, or knew what memorial day was at all, and even worse, GEN Z, won't know anything at all about it, even if they're taught by the subject in school, it won't come to them because the useless and most pointless things out there, like the ongoing trends, and pop culture matters more to them, then about our U.S. history. But I thank GOD, that I was taught everything, and including the meaning of memorial day. I strongly agree, that the word "happy" can only be used as a connotation, if the event left a wondefful memory in the hearts of others, and for generations yet to come, but if it always left a traumatic, heartbreaking, and the worst and tragic memory left in the heart of others, and became marked forever, than the word "happy" should always be left out, and never used, and instead use "Sad" as it should be, when describing a horrible tragedy, a traumatic experience, and such. So for memorial day I'd instead say something like "Please stay strong this memorial day, or "Have a blessed memorial day" although this is used as a greeting between Christians as well, but still respecting the holiday without having anyone's feelings hurt and unattended. That's why I choose my words very carefully, and take it very seriously. Something to just keep in mind. You spoke the truth, and I always admire people for doing that, including you, for standing up for yourself. Let's use our freedom of speech always, so we can get our points across to people, so they can see and understand us of what we mean.

To all those who have served and to those who have fallen, this is an apology to what we have become.. a country divided by ideology.. a country whose citizens are constantly mourning the next mass shootings because our failed leadership refuses to take a stand against gun violence.. this is apology to all those who have served, watching law enforcement kill those because of their race.. and still happening to this day.. this is an apology because there is no such thing as justice as we watch the Supreme Court carry on the status quo giving corporations power robbing us of our ability to give redress of grievances against a corrupt gov.. were we watch those who are well connected and wealthy who are above the law... this is an apology as we watch the dream of a more perfect union slip away and the environment destroyed for the sake of profits and climate change destroys the hopes of our children living in a sustainable way.. this apology is for all the things not mentioned here ... I hope the next memorial day we are worthy of your sacrifices you made to see this country, the United States of America , achieve what the founding father set out to do. Life love fainess pursuit of happiness.. I salute you...
And this is an apology that they died for people who want to politicize everything and use a day of rememberance to try and back handedly push a divisive ideology.
