I watched this entire concert on PBS this weekend. What fabulous artists. Veronica is already one of the greatest vocalists in the top echelon of jazz. The entire concert had hold of me from start to finish. Everyone who performed was an ARTIST.
@@wernermatrisch2 That's because Swift is JAZZ! Krall and Gardot are nice enough, but they are not jazz singers! I get why people like their songs, but this woman is in another league altogether. She takes her place as rightful heir to Fitzgerald, Carter and O'Day at their best. Her work on Cherokee with Marsalis is beyond breathtaking! If you haven't heard it - run don't walk! ;)

Veronica Swift's musicality and range of voices are excellent.She is still so young - but she is already artistically so diverse, musically matured, she impresses with her amazing virtuosity.... one wonders: where else does she want to go !!
What an amazing artist. Don't forget Ella, Sarah Vaughn and Mel Torme up there as the greatest scat singers. But Veronica already able to take her place with the greats. She is young -- but started singing AND RECORDING at age 9 (!) -- so she's definitely the real deal and loooong way to go. Also, such a wide variety of music on her newest album. Amazing.
Veronica has such a wide repertoire, and there is nothing static or canned about her signing . Her intonation and inflection s are simply marvelous, and of course she has soul and can swing hard. Dianne reeves may have a prettier voice but after that nobody challenges Veronica currently for female jazz vocalists. Listen to these two now-thier greatness won’t be overlooked simply because they are currently on stage.
