I absolutely love Alan's character simply because he brings out the absolute worst from Gumball's Insane mind.
What's interesting is that Alan is a demon too hiding beneath an angelic face

The creepy safety video, the extreme lengths Darwin goes to to everything proof Elmore, the mission to stop him, it's all hilarious, and great commentary on real over protective parents. And Darwin really is the most adorable dictator ever.
It's also the creators taking a dig at the ridiculous censors they have to deal with sometimes

@@princeproductions8599Yep. In case you didn't know, the original plan was for a Movie to be released which would pave the way for a new series or "reboot". But since the movie is being shelved for now we'll just be getting another new season which is to be released sometime during the spring/summer of or late 2024 so Gumball should be coming back pretty soon

Oh god, the "hit your kids" people. I once wrote an essay on why corporal punishment is an ineffective teaching strategy at best and at worst just teaches kids to fear their parents for a class, and when I presented it good lord did some of those people justify it hard. One guy even reacted to my personal story of "My mom didn't hit me that much, but it was enough to make me think that it was better to lie about problems than tell her the truth and risk punishment" with "She should have hit you more."
Sadly, it seems like some people just wanna beat kids. No amount of scientific evidence or anecdotes will change their minds.
That's so stupid what I learned from those kinds of punishment is that I needed to be physically and emotionally abusive in my teen years justifying it by punishing other people instead of whatever my parents were teaching.
Well, the opposite end of the spectrum would probably argue that if you didn’t hit your kids at least once in their lives, they’d turn into a narcissist… or end up on that freaky TV show about people’s strange addictions… or waste their lives on 4chan… or turn into a dream stan.
Y’know, I feel like I could go on, but I’m not sure if I want to.

Nah whoopings stopped me from doing dumb shit as a kid. I did something wrong therefore I got punished. It was either that or I got my games and stuff taken for months until I shape up, I would rather take the whooping. It’s not that bad honestly, I personally felt worse for letting my parents down in that instance than the actual whooping itself
Did you know for Power Puff Girls. There’s a magical girl anime version where the 3 girls are just normal elementary students or something, and they get hit by chemical “Z” that gives them sailor moon transformations?
They each get their own weapons like Bubbles gets a giant bubble wand, buttercup gets a giant toy hammer (usually used for rock-paper-scissors), and blossom gets a yo-yo.
I think Alan is the only one who always gets under Gumballs skin. And he's not even trying to do that.

I keep seeing the wiki and fans state why Gumball despises Alan: he just hates how good-hearted and smart Alan is and wishes to be the same. And while I could understand that reasoning if that’s the case, is Gumball really that lazy to try? I can’t say I completely blame Gumball, since everyone has a vendetta against someone who did nothing but just exist, but it seems very toxic 😅
That's the point tho-
It is, so much. I went through a good chunk of my life being really resentful of other people and it took me a lot of effort and a real low point to admit to myself that I was just angry that other people were just better at certain things than me. Gumball is pretty relatable, though I must state that kidnapping and selling relatives is not something I’d personally resort to
It's not that he's lazy, it's that Alan does it out of the goodness of his heart and gumball wants people to like him, making him feel guilty.

Yea. Like the saint is where i couldn't stand gumball. Alan is a very nice guy yet this pisses off gumball?? And if gumball wishes to be like him, then he should at least try, but he doesn't. Instead he is mostly selfish and he mostly behaves as major a jerk to most people.
Speaking of redditor Gumball, I heard his 3rd VA got into slamming someone on Twitter, and some folks admit that it does sound in character for Gumball

Anyone who says they got beat as a kid and are better off for it with 0 issues are just lying to you and themselves. It's absolutely not ok. I still subconsciously set my bedroom up so I'm always facing the door.

My mom used to drip hot candle wax on me as a child whenever I do something she didn’t want me to.

I remember when I was in college I pulled an all nighter on a project and had to Uber home at like 4am. When I get in the car I do the usual "hi, how are you" small talk and explain why I'm getting home so late and that I'm exhausted. My Uber driver knows its 4am, sees me sitting there with my head down and eyes closed, and has already been told I'm exhausted, and he still tries to make conversation with me the whole ride. Eventually it gets to a point where its like "homie, if you just let us ride in silence I promise to tip you"

About the beating yiur kids thing, I kind of wonder what some parents have to do to "beat" their kids. Im African and everyone in my country is fine with corporeal punishment. I was fine. I just wonder what constitutes bad punishment and if we're all brainwashed or something, because the examples ive seen of soft parents are all just parents who treat theur kids like friends and end up with gen alpha kids who dont behave. Can someone pls explain why some kids can handle spanking and some cant? Cause i dont know anyone who's mother never spanked them as a child.

Am I the only one who actually likes Alan? I'm not being rude or anything, I'm genuinely curious. The Saint, The Faith, and The Traitor are some of my favorite episodes. Obviously for the good writing in all three of them but I kinda just like Alan as a character.
I like Alan because he’s usually genuinely nice, which is a good contrast against most of the cast, who are jerks at different levels.
@@spinobimkiii7443 Hm, same. I mean, sometimes I get it. Gumball and Darwin are great because they feel like actual children: Little to no morals and always doing their own thing without a thought. Even then, it's just nice to see a protagonist is isn't against being an asshole like most people are. But sometimes I really don't wanna be reminded about how much reality sucks so having Alan in an episode just makes it more enjoyable when I'm in an escapism mindset.
