From scoring 0 points in his first game to scoring 20 and missing a game winner, I gotta shout out Sasser. He’s been committed to playing and learning a new role beyond what his skillets is suited for and has improved with each game. It’s a tough miss and loss but his determination to playing PG has got to earn some respect.

Seeing lots of mixed feedback from Sasser, I’m cool with him for sure

For real man, he’s got so many tools and the passing as a big is just the cherry on top

They played tough as hell, Holland is raw, but he has that winning mentality. Klintman still looking better than his where he was drafted

Yeah they’ve been locked in especially in the 2nd halves of all these games really. Definitely playing more tough than a lot of these teams at the SL

Man that 4th quarter down the stretch was hard to watch. So many opportunities and couldn’t capitalize late. Really hoping this shooting coach we got from Nola is the difference maker for Bobbi and Ron with their shot because the potential is there🙏

That buzzer beater loss was tough to see, even though it's just summer league. On the flip side, Pistons put up a fight in the final quarter.

I was hoping the Pistons would not have to dig their way out of a double digit hole for once. Good comeback..too bad Sasser missed the winner.

For real, that’s 3 games in a row where I thought they were tucked and every time they came back

If Monty was coaching, that summer league squad Knicks would've blew off the doors completely!
That's the difference between Jarrett Jack coaching style and Monty Williams.

Holland will be a star plus I wasn’t a fan of that last shot

One big positive is that Holland seems like a smart and willing defender, but I don't see the same super athleticism in Holland that I see in Ausar. To me, at this point, he looks weak and plays smaller than his height and supposed athleticism would suggest. He has gotten stuffed a ridiculous number of times in Summer League. With Ausar, his elite athleticism just is so obvious, I'd say he is one of the most athletic players in the NBA. I don't see that with Holland.

Well for starters, comparing almost anyone to Ausar athletically, other than Amen, is an uphill battle. Those twins are in another stratosphere compared to almost anyone else. In regard to Ron specifically, I definitely see the athleticism, I just think it's less like Ausar's brand, and a bit more similar to Jaden Ivey's kind of lateral athleticism, but perhaps a bit better. His speed getting back on defense, his offball movement, his ability to stay glued to his man, his ability to contort in crazy ways while the opponent is in transition to pick off a pass onehanded, these are all areas where you can see it. He still has plenty of ability to get up though, with that soaring, twisting dunk he made on the fast break being an example, as well as some of those more acrobatic finishes where he drew contact in the air for the and-1.
I think the main two things limiting him offensively right now are both his need for much more bulk, and strength, and his need to improve his ball handling. When Ausar came in, he was a year and a half older than Ron, but also 22lbs heavier, despite being shorter. That's a good weight distribution for Ausar to be able to power through contact from the get-go. Coming into the combine as a 196lb 6'8 guy, Ron is practically a noodle, so he's gonna need to build that up, especially considering Ignite had pretty terrible training development (fun note, OTE's weight training was surprisingly good). Even more so, his ball handling is having trouble keeping up with his speed, as you can see him having to slow down a bit to keep the ball under control at times.
All of this is to say that he's definitely still a work in progress, but I don't think what we've seen is an indictment on his athleticism and potential, but rather just a reality that he's not coming into the league with the idyllic wing defender physique that Ausar did, and is going to need coaching on his technique.

You don't see it YET, because Ron is 18yrs old, ok, 18???! Get off him, and let him DEVELOP. Langdon didn't pick him for KICKS, ok?! Ansar came into the NBA much more seasoned and more NBA READY. To say Ron is not as Athletic as Ansar is absorb, at this point in their perspective, Young Careers. I suggest YOU watch more FILM, and Appreciate what kind of team we have NOW, and the COACH who will do a EXCELLENT job further developing these 'Young bucks'. (take a chill pill and enjoy the Season.) 😉

Yeah idk I feel like his role isn’t fit for being a true PG and more of a bench spark plug which has led to lots of ups and downs this SL for him
