I've got three amazon puffers for a year + who have never needed their teeth trimmed. I credit it to the Xtreme "big fella" pellets. They LOVE them and have to bite them like they would a snail, it seems to keep their teeth trimmed down naturally.
Thanks for this tip
Another reason to keep rainbows! 😜
Great seeing Jonny in another video. I hope he doesn't get so famous he forgets about us! 😆
It's nice to see some proper husbandry, good job!
Johnny. I am so impressed. Shy and totally into the fish’s comfort and health. Really amazing and top notch video. You are a true fish lover!!!!
actually, thank you, that was the first one i've seen from start to finish! and it showed the clove oil and exactly what to expect. i've already decided, when i get some puffs i'm going to order from you.
We demand more Jonny!
I just did this to my puffers, it worked exactly like shown, I used the same ratios, etc. Everything went well!
🥰THANK YOU!! We needed this! We have 3 puffers from you and one refuses to eat snails. We have to trim his teeth and it was VERY stressful, I wish we had this for the first time because most information out there is vague.
Yey! A Dans fish video 😂haha
Hi Jonny.
BTW - You all do a fantastic job. Hats off to Dan and you all. Nothing like it I have seen in tropical fish business and I am getting up there in “age”! 😉
Thanks, Dan. Love your content, and I just bought a trio of puffers a couple weeks ago and I’m still nervous around them, they are so skittish. Your videos have made me a bit more confident in keeping them.
Nice Jonny! Great to see some of the Fishmonger Crew in these videos! Dan you should give the Crew more opportunities to do a feature or video, if they would want to.
Awesome video! I've always wondered how to do this. Thanks Dan and Jonny!
I think I'd need a sip of that clove oil to even _think_ of doing that
Just bought 4 Amazon's advertised as pea's and this will help as they are a year and a half and need trimmed
Nice! I have one that need this bad. Ive been puting it off
Did you put them in a different tank afterwards? Or just trim and remove plants?
So you had a bucket where you put them after the clove treatment
Do you take them from that bucket right to the tank? Or could the clove oil on the fish/in the bucket cross contaminate the main tank and cause issues? Probably not if those two drops did sedation while this would be a much smaller concentration in a much larger volume, just some things I’m curious/concerned about for my puffer I need to do this on soon
Very nice.
Good one !!!
Awesome

Nice
This might be a stupid question, but have you ever accidentally clipped too much off, made them bleed or has the entire plate fallen off?
Nope. You can feel the clippers behind their teeth and see in the front to avoid cutting them.
Jhonny Beakman
I like it
I think if/when i need to do this ill play on the side of caution. If i clip to little and need to do it again in a few months would that be ok ?? Thabks gor any advice.
Interesting
This is so wild. I only keep peas who don’t need trimming, but I feel much more confident with the possibility having watched this video. Do the fish ever struggle to revive after knocking them out with clove?
Some might take a bit longer to get back to normal, but within a few minutes they're good to go. You can see the gill movement steadily increase until they start using their pectoral fins. Once they start using them, recovery goes very fast.
hi, what brand of the clove oil do you use?
I never looked at the brand, but I got it from GNC if that helps.
Why I keep goldfish
