Just purchased mine last week and couldn’t be more excited. I ended up doing a ton of research between Stealthcraft, Flycraft, and SmithFly and ended up going with Saturn due to the overall price and that they use a modular NRS frame system. What I realized is that most, if not all, of these companies are basically using a rebranded Saturn 12’6” Triton raft with their own custom frame, not including oars, shipping, or a third seat, and charging a premium. I based my purchase on the raft shown in this video, added a rear seat, and a NRS thigh bar, KBO oars, and shipping, putting me right under $3,800.00 total. Flycraft Stealth X doesn’t include oars ($400) or a rear seat ($85) and is starts at $4,495.00. I’m not saying Flycraft or any of these other brands are bad products - what I am saying is that you can get an extremely similar raft with a modular NRS frame for $1,000 less than what the competitors are offering. I highly recommend reaching out to Steve and Cody at Saturn.
You just answered my questions! I had a feeling the other manufacturers noted above were using a rebranded version of the Saturn. Don’t dare go on a Facebook owners group for Smith Fly or Stealth Craft, as they instantly get offended and can’t see past the fact they are being overcharged. Ha ha
Thanks for the review. Your set up is just what I am looking for. Now that you have had the boat for a while, is there anything else you would have added on the NRS frame? I may just have to give Saturn a call.
Ya its been great. So much more stable than the fly craft. I saw that they came out with an in between model of their original and 3 man which is undoubtedly this raft
@@arreese6573 ya my buddy has one and we switch back and forth a lot. The fly craft is definitely a tad lighter but no where near as stable. I assume it's because the tube diameter isn't as big. The fly craft is a sweet boat but it came down to not spending another 1k as well as bonus stability, weight carrying capacity, and heat welded seams. I think flycraft has a heat welded boat now but I may be mistaken. The self bailing floor on the saturn is a big plus too. We've been out in the rain in the flycraft and it gets annoying. Same with getting in and out especially if you have waders and boots on because the boat fills with water. The fly craft is easier to row but only by a tiny bit. The saturn doesn't bother me to row because most of the time I'm rowing my Adipose drift boat when I fish.
What NRS frame did you go with? I was looking at the fishing frame but wasn’t sure if there’s a better option for modularity, etc. Also which anchor mount did you go with?
@@bensanchez4302 it's great, we had it in some RIDICULOUSLY skinny water in the headwaters of the Salmom this summer and it did awesome. My Dad and I are BIG dudes and it performed great.

What length paddle did you get?
How stiff is the floor, is it comparable to an inflatable SUP board? (like the Flycraft or Hooligan rafts?)
Seems solid to me. I like this boat more than the fly craft. It's still not as stiff as a SUP but I'm 250 lbs and its stiff enough to not flex
Now that you've had it a for several months, have you had a chance to fish it more? Impressions still positive?

@@Sleddy_McFishface Do you have experience with the flycraft? I am incredibly torn between the two and Im curious what swayed you away from Flycraft?

What are the dimensions of your frame?
Whatever they have listed on their site as recommended. Cheers
