Well, they have been on stage many times together in the past. The first time after 2000 that I could track down was 2010 for a Mondo Cane show. Spruance joined FNM for the entire King For A Day album performance, and then there was some work together on SC3, not live though :). For me, it is the absolute magic of Patton, Spruance and Dunn all together for the first time in so long!

John Hudson is kinda just a chill jack of all trades, nothing really blows you away but he does justice to everything. Would have been very cool to see Trey in FNM longer, but maybe we wouldn't have seen the masterwork that is California!

To me, Trey, Mike and Trevor are the core of Bungle. This is a manifestation of their teenage dreams, and is a fucking gem and treat to hear. It also sounds like it was a gem and treat for them to revisit. You can tell their 16/17 year old minds wanted to push music and metal SUPER far. It's something that carried through with Mr. Bungle through their career. I mean, I doubt we'll see a return to California material (or any of the 3 main albums really) with like, William Winant showing up....I mean who knows! but I think it will just be these handful of shows, and they are so far blowing my mind!

I want to go back tonight for 2nd show. All these guys are so talented and unbelievably tight. They must have been rehearsing for months.
I'm not going to disagree with you and I may be wrong, but i was super curious about rehearsals.. and based on my stalking of their professional schedules, twitter, IG etc. - I think they've only rehearsed together for a few weeks tops.

On display here is everything that made Slayer great. Dave Lombardo is a beast. It's like the first half of the show he's just warming up to really give the drums a beating in the second half.

I was born in Eureka California. He went absolutely bonkers for Metallica-Ride The Lightning for about a month after it’s release in 1984.

I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion -- and I'm grateful that Mike, Trey, and Trevor are doing this --- but I'm just having a hard time considering it Mr. Bungle with Dave and Scott there. It's more like a new supergroup to me than Mr. Bungle. Especially since Mike and Trevor have also worked together in Tomahawk and Fantomas, and Mike and Dave have worked together in Fantomas and Dead Cross, and Trevor and Dave have worked together in Fantomas. What this really is about is seeing Mike and Trey on stage together again, which is great. Does anyone know why Danny Heifetz and Bär McKinnon aren't doing it? Danny seemed open to it in a 2016 interview. And I wonder why they chose to do Raging Wrath and nothing from the WB albums. Hopefully this handful of shows isn't all there is. But since Faith No More has a summer tour, we can't expect any more Mr. Bungle anytime soon.
Bar and Danny live in Australia now, I believe, and unfortunately didn't receive a call to participate in this. They're playing this because they don't care what the fans want; Bungle has always gone against what people expected. Even when they toured back in the day, they soon stopped playing anything from the first album.
I sort of felt that way initially but bearing in mind only Patton, Spruance and Dunn played on the first demo (with a drummer who's name escapes me). It's 3/4 of the original line-up for these tunes, so they're well within their rights to call it Mr Bungle.

Glad they were able to get Scott Ian and Dave Lombardo to agree to the reunion. I had reservations about whether or not they would be on board, but in the end, it all worked out. Scott Ian and Dave Lombardo are/were arguably the most essential members of Mr. Bungle; it just would not--repeat, would not--be a proper reunion without them imho.
Uh, Scott Ian and Dave Lombardo were NEVER EVER members of Bungle. When this demo was released, Bungle was a four piece. Their drummer’s name was Jed Watts. He’s gonna play Anarchy Up Your Anus onstage at the first SF show. That will be a TRUE reunion!

Glad they were able to get Scott Ian and Dave Lombardo to agree to the reunion. I had reservations about whether or not they would be on board, but in the end, it all worked out. Scott Ian and Dave Lombardo are/were arguably the most essential members of Mr. Bungle; it just would not--repeat, would not--be a proper reunion without them imho.
Uh, Scott Ian and Dave Lombardo were NEVER EVER members of Bungle. When this demo was released, Bungle was a four piece. Their drummer’s name was Jed Watts. He’s gonna play Anarchy Up Your Anus onstage at the first SF show. That will be a TRUE reunion!
