If you signed up under the GI bill, please don't wait years to use it. When I was in it was ten years after discharge and now it's fifteen I think. You'd be surprised of how many folks let theirs expire. Time flies.

While on active duty continue for a Graduate Certificate (GC) or M.S. in Cyber security. The FBI does have a need for SAs in this field. Hey, it’s great that you aspire to become an aspiring SA. It’s a difficult screening process but naval service helps by separating you into the prior military category. You’ve to differentiate yourself among your competitors. If not the FBI, have a backup plan if FBI selects you. This is applicable for the other agencies within our IC. Don’t forget HSD, NCIS, DOS, DEA, ATF to mention other agencies/departments. Good Luck!
The Navy is hurting to comply with the 355 combatant ships. The Marine Corps doesn’t accept GEDs unless the individual has at less a year of Community College. The USAF won’t even sit down with those with GEDs until those folks comeback with an AA/AS/AAS degree.
How can you say don't do anything in engineering rates? They are probably one of the most transferrable to Civilian LIfe? Yes, engineering rates might have to work harder than administrative rates such as YN, SK, etc., but is a very very transferrable rate to civilian life. Nuke Engineers literally have a $120k job waiting for them on the civilian side? Just odd you said that and need some clarification?
