I saw Drew Gooden at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
Thank you for this video. I'm a boring old person, and UA-cam randomly recommended this to me along side furniture restorations, history documentaries and other dull things. At first I thought ??? But I lost both of my cats in July, so I gave it a try, and I've watched it a few times now. The care you both show for BimBim is delightful to see, and it's been a real comfort.

My vet made me take it off because I wanted to keep it on for the full recommended 10 days, but she had an upper respiratory infection and they said the stress might be worse than her licking her wounds at that point lol
I begged my parents to keep the cone on our dog so he'd stop chewing his paws like the vet suggested we do and they just went nah its fine we'll just tell him to stop when we see him doing it. Surprise surprise he still chewed his paws.
@AnaPie896I’m a vet tech and some animals don’t “need” a cone after a dental procedure, it’s mostly for the ones who won’t leave their face alone after having teeth pulled - they paw at their face, scratch it, etc. My own personal pets have had teeth pulled and never wore a cone afterwards, but some pets do need them. It’s always a good idea to have a cone just in case, so that’s awesome you’re getting one ahead of time! Better to do that than to risk them scratching their stitches out.
the disc shaped, fabric elizibethan collars with elastic are a lot better. my vet uses them instead of the awful plastic cones and they're fantastic for cats. they can still eat and see around them and look way comfier.
9:20 I think cats want to do things they perceive as things "the pack" does, which is why they almost never touch things we get exclusively get for them. However, kind of a hack I found with my cat is that he's far more willing to give a new object a chance, and continue using it, if I cover that object with my dirty laundry for a few hours first. I did that for a cat bed that he showed no interest in and now he's consistently used it for over a year.
Yup! another thing is they like feeling included! My cat will only use "her" stuff if it's by ours. So like her bed is right next to our bed, and her cat tree is in the living room by the couch. She's an extremely dumb little baby who we adore, so she has a lot of stuff.
One of my cats was genuinely obsessed with watching this video. Weirdly, I don't think it was the toys or Bim Bim that got his attention but he seemed really drawn to the general motion of the editing.

"Crumpled up piece of paper" got me SO hard. My cat had a robot laser pointer that drove around, a catnip koi fish with a motor, and a hanging bird that was supposed to be super engaging to cats. Her favorite toys? Crumpled paper and a random piece of string she found and kept for MONTHS.
My cat steals the strings out of hoodies and pants and has a stash of those and my wife’s hairties. We’ve bought so many toys and she is just uninterested
My cat loves cardboard boxes. She gets bored of them after a while, but when we move them in order to throw them out soon, she becomes interested again.

This itself is the definition for what it is like to be a cat owner. You buy them a really nice and comfy bed that costs a ton, and instead of using it, they decide to sit in the extremely uncomfortable cardboard box that they don't even fit in because it has little sections petruding out of it. But we still love 'em, because they remind us of our own stupidity with their singular brain cells.
I love that cats don't give a shit about our made up rules. Who cares if it's expensive? If the cat doesn't like it they aren't gonna sit, doesn't matter how much money or effort went into it. I need that attitude more honestly.
All pets. They don't appreciate aesthetics like we do so they couldn't care less for trash vs some expensive specialized toy. My last dog was a toy shredder. So much money wasted on toys just to be shredded, only to realize he loved kitchen roll cartons more than any toy.
I left my large obnoxious red suitcase on my bed when I went on a trip and my cat had decided that it was the best most amazing bed he’s ever laid in, even better than his heated cat bed. That was over a year ago and now I slept next to giant ugly suitcase every night because of course I wouldn’t dare take it away from him. Good thing I’m single lol

I do think the billard table does SOMETHING in that it gives cats an appropriate place to knock things OFF the table! Cats love to bat fragile objects off of places they shouldn't be and i think the table gives the illusion of the tempting coffee table without any of the breakability
this video is like therapy for me. in April my girlfriend of nearly 4 years and I broke up, and she took her cat back home with her. he's a 10 year old long-haired ginger who was a typical ginger cat. a bit daft but so affectionate and funny. I loved Hector to bits and I was completely devastated when they left. for weeks I refused to even talk or think about it at all because I was so distraught. not even a week later, my other cat (at my parents' house) died. Miffy was my baby. she was a short and stout little black and white tuxedo cat who was painfully sweet but had very strong instincts when it came to other cats that weren't her brother. we got them when I was 16 and I was very mentally ill. the moment I saw her I was obsessed with her because she was so incredibly unusual. she had the ugliest nails on the chalkboard meow, but she made the cutest little noises and she always sat with one of her legs sticking out funny. she chose me as her favourite person almost immediately, and it felt like she was my cat soulmate in a weird sort of way. the night before she died, she was going up to her food/water trying to eat/drink, but she just couldn't do it because her kidneys were failing. I sat with her all night and cried, and then the next day we had to take her to be put down because she was just suffering. she had health issues since we got her at age 10 and she lived all the way til 19 years old. she was a very impressive cat and I miss her every day. then a month ago, her brother (also 19) died. it was really horrible because he was completely healthy but then a wound on his paw formed after his claw fell out, and it turned out to be cancer. he was called Mungo after the patron saint of Glasgow where I'm from. he was a massive brown and grey tabby with a white tummy, and he had big paws and a HUGE noggin. he could be antsy when things didn't happen on schedule as he was very particular, and he had the most expressive face of any cat I've ever met. he used to just listen to 2 people talk, and when one person stopped talking and the other started, he would turn his head towards them until the other person talked again and he would look back this is so long and probably nobody read this far but I really appreciate this video because it's been helping me deal with losing 3 cats in such a short time. I've watched this so many times since it came out and it always makes me feel better💜
I'm so so so sorry for your losses. My sweet fur bab passed away about 2 months ago at the age of 16, and I was inconsolable. I can't imagine how you must feel. They were all lucky to have you. Take care ❤

We had to get most of our cat's teeth removed at one point and it was definitely a bonding experience. She couldn't groom her face but she figured out that she could lick our hands and groom her face by rubbing against our wet hands. It was so adorable... and probably sounds really weird to people who don't have cats 😂
@@Grace-er9epI had two cats and never had a serious problem. The cats had scratching posts etc and I praised them and rewarded them when they used those and squirted them with water when they used other stuff. It took less than a week for the idea to sink in.
@@kensmith5694 I've got 5 cats (most were strays) and even they know they shouldn't scratch the furniture lol. Sometimes they do on accident, but none of them get away with scratching furniture like their lives depend on it lol. We give them a little hiss if they get too crazy with the furniture and it works pretty well.
this is not the point of the video but thank you for keeping your cat inside. i love cats, but i also work with reptiles and amphibians (my degree is in zoology) and outdoor cats are a much bigger threat to both themselves and the environment than most people realize. good responsible pet ownership is always something i like to see online. ❤

yes!! cats are good at taking care of themselves, but they can't win a fight with a car, and too many cats are lost to alligators with guns. It's also terrible to see housecats destroy native species that didn't evolve for an environment with miniature tigers lurking around every corner

Big tip for the cat net make sure someone is always there so she can see them. When my cat first got in hers my mom walked around the corner to get something and I saw her through the window and she got really scared. I think she felt vulnerable there but feels safe when she sees you and knows you can help her if she needs it. At least I think that’s what she was thinking idk I can get the translator app and let you know more

I think I may have conditioned myself into falling asleep when I hear Drew’s voice, Pavlov style. I can’t usually fall asleep when a room is fully quiet (scared of my own thoughts), so I always leave UA-cam videos playing on my phone in the backround. Probs have been doing so for the past 2/3 years. Drew’s videos are a big source of comfort for me so most times they are the ones that play overnight. Today I was chilling at home and saw that Drew posted this video, so I decided to watch it. A few minutes in I fell asleep. It was 2pm. And he would climb my desk, my headboard, the cupboards, literally anything else, so it's not as if he doesn't like to climb 😭 there's literally nothing going on in cat's minds. FR we got our cat a new bed and she hasn't touched it yet but when I got a new laptop bag she claimed it as her own (I haven't used it once... it's literally her bed now.....)
If you want your cat to use a new bed/cat tree I would recommend getting yours and their scent on it. Wear an old shirt to bed so it has your body odor and then leave it on (or rub it on) the new cat tree/bed, or brush your cat's fur and leave the loose fur on it. Cats operate almost entirely on smells when it comes to this kind of stuff!

Cat tents are great for enrichment! Cats are actually super bad for local ecosystems because of how many small animals they kill, the diseases they can carry, etc. but getting fresh air is super engaging for them. As long as you supervise your cars while they’re outside in tents, it’s the safest and best option.

My vet made me take it off because I wanted to keep it on for the full recommended 10 days, but she had an upper respiratory infection and they said the stress might be worse than her licking her wounds at that point lol
I begged my parents to keep the cone on our dog so he'd stop chewing his paws like the vet suggested we do and they just went nah its fine we'll just tell him to stop when we see him doing it. Surprise surprise he still chewed his paws.
@AnaPie896I’m a vet tech and some animals don’t “need” a cone after a dental procedure, it’s mostly for the ones who won’t leave their face alone after having teeth pulled - they paw at their face, scratch it, etc. My own personal pets have had teeth pulled and never wore a cone afterwards, but some pets do need them. It’s always a good idea to have a cone just in case, so that’s awesome you’re getting one ahead of time! Better to do that than to risk them scratching their stitches out.
the disc shaped, fabric elizibethan collars with elastic are a lot better. my vet uses them instead of the awful plastic cones and they're fantastic for cats. they can still eat and see around them and look way comfier.

9:20 I think cats want to do things they perceive as things "the pack" does, which is why they almost never touch things we get exclusively get for them.
However, kind of a hack I found with my cat is that he's far more willing to give a new object a chance, and continue using it, if I cover that object with my dirty laundry for a few hours first. I did that for a cat bed that he showed no interest in and now he's consistently used it for over a year.

Yup! another thing is they like feeling included! My cat will only use "her" stuff if it's by ours. So like her bed is right next to our bed, and her cat tree is in the living room by the couch. She's an extremely dumb little baby who we adore, so she has a lot of stuff.

This itself is the definition for what it is like to be a cat owner. You buy them a really nice and comfy bed that costs a ton, and instead of using it, they decide to sit in the extremely uncomfortable cardboard box that they don't even fit in because it has little sections petruding out of it. But we still love 'em, because they remind us of our own stupidity with their singular brain cells.

I left my large obnoxious red suitcase on my bed when I went on a trip and my cat had decided that it was the best most amazing bed he’s ever laid in, even better than his heated cat bed. I do think the billard table does SOMETHING in that it gives cats an appropriate place to knock things OFF the table! Cats love to bat fragile objects off of places they shouldn't be and i think the table gives the illusion of the tempting coffee table without any of the breakability
this video is like therapy for me. in April my girlfriend of nearly 4 years and I broke up, and she took her cat back home with her. he's a 10 year old long-haired ginger who was a typical ginger cat. a bit daft but so affectionate and funny. I loved Hector to bits and I was completely devastated when they left. for weeks I refused to even talk or think about it at all because I was so distraught.
not even a week later, my other cat (at my parents' house) died. Miffy was my baby. she was a short and stout little black and white tuxedo cat who was painfully sweet but had very strong instincts when it came to other cats that weren't her brother. we got them when I was 16 and I was very mentally ill. the moment I saw her I was obsessed with her because she was so incredibly unusual. she had the ugliest nails on the chalkboard meow, but she made the cutest little noises and she always sat with one of her legs sticking out funny. she chose me as her favourite person almost immediately, and it felt like she was my cat soulmate in a weird sort of way. the night before she died, she was going up to her food/water trying to eat/drink, but she just couldn't do it because her kidneys were failing. I sat with her all night and cried, and then the next day we had to take her to be put down because she was just suffering. she had health issues since we got her at age 10 and she lived all the way til 19 years old. she was a very impressive cat and I miss her every day.
then a month ago, her brother (also 19) died. it was really horrible because he was completely healthy but then a wound on his paw formed after his claw fell out, and it turned out to be cancer. he was called Mungo after the patron saint of Glasgow where I'm from. he was a massive brown and grey tabby with a white tummy, and he had big paws and a HUGE noggin. he could be antsy when things didn't happen on schedule as he was very particular, and he had the most expressive face of any cat I've ever met. he used to just listen to 2 people talk, and when one person stopped talking and the other started, he would turn his head towards them until the other person talked again and he would look back
this is so long and probably nobody read this far but I really appreciate this video because it's been helping me deal with losing 3 cats in such a short time. I've watched this so many times since it came out and it always makes me feel better💜

We had to get most of our cat's teeth removed at one point and it was definitely a bonding experience. She couldn't groom her face but she figured out that she could lick our hands and groom her face by rubbing against our wet hands. It was so adorable... and probably sounds really weird to people who don't have cats 😂

@@Grace-er9epI had two cats and never had a serious problem. The cats had scratching posts etc and I praised them and rewarded them when they used those and squirted them with water when they used other stuff. It took less than a week for the idea to sink in.

Sometimes they do on accident, but none of them get away with scratching furniture like their lives depend on it lol. We give them a little hiss if they get too crazy with the furniture and it works pretty well.

Big tip for the cat net make sure someone is always there so she can see them. When my cat first got in hers my mom walked around the corner to get something and I saw her through the window and she got really scared. I think she felt vulnerable there but feels safe when she sees you and knows you can help her if she needs it. At least I think that’s what she was thinking idk I can get the translator app and let you know more

I think I may have conditioned myself into falling asleep when I hear Drew’s voice, Pavlov style. I can’t usually fall asleep when a room is fully quiet (scared of my own thoughts), so I always leave UA-cam videos playing on my phone in the backround. Probs have been doing so for the past 2/3 years. Drew’s videos are a big source of comfort for me so most times they are the ones that play overnight. Today I was chilling at home and saw that Drew posted this video, so I decided to watch it. A few minutes in I fell asleep. It was 2pm. If you want your cat to use a new bed/cat tree I would recommend getting yours and their scent on it. Wear an old shirt to bed so it has your body odor and then leave it on (or rub it on) the new cat tree/bed, or brush your cat's fur and leave the loose fur on it. Cats operate almost entirely on smells when it comes to this kind of stuff!
My cat came over to watch the video with me. He really liked when Bimbim was in the tent and started purring/kneading when she said she was hungry into your phone. Truly deserves her own channel

The cat tent is actually very responsible because outdoor cats not only have a VERY shortened life expectancy, they also ruin ecosystems by being invasive predators who kills things just for fun

@@lemin0u cats kill things for fun everywhere.. that's a natural instinct that they have. even with full bellies, cats will kill small animals to the point of endangering species. that's just a fact! also, cars, which exist everywhere, are a major part of that shortened life expectancy fact! because, yes, cats do not always look both ways before crossing streets.. and sometimes people also run cats over on purpose. if you love your cat, and care about the environment, you should do the responsible thing and keep it inside!

@@onii_na4141 not true. They are the same species as european wild cats. There are a bunch of cats who would be miserable always living inside, including ours. If you live in a rural area, cars aren't that big of a risk either.

Cat tents are great for enrichment! Cats are actually super bad for local ecosystems because of how many small animals they kill, the diseases they can carry, etc. but getting fresh air is super engaging for them. As long as you supervise your cars while they’re outside in tents, it’s the safest and best option.
