Historically speaking it's pretty fucked up. Some random nobles and citizens (because much like Rome one must serve in the military to be a Citizen) was able to beat up these rebels, which are mostly current soldiers. Leadership does matter.

The problem with Ying Zheng is that currently at this time he is worried about textbook laws, popular opinion rather than doing what it takes to diffuse situations. He should learn a thing or 2 from Lu Buwei who is smart enough to know sometimes rulers need to just kill certain people to avoid a power struggle.
well in reality lao ai's rebellion was much smaller and dealt with really quickly and also like he said he couldn't just kill him it would have seem illegitimate to the public and also by allowing him to rebel he was able to kill his entire opposition and also remove lu buwei who placed lao ai and he gained absolute power

This is the most incompetent king ever. His failure to act and mollycoddling his mother caused the loss of countless lives. He goes away for his coronation leaving his son behind knowing very well that a rebellion is afoot supported by enemy countries that have already mobilised their forces. I wouldn't have laid down my life for such.
No no no I don't agree with you.. he has no real power so going against his mother will be seen as felony ,treason , rebellion punishable by law...he is the most wisest king of Qin dynasty...I respect him the most , he doesn't act on impulse ,he is calculating and seeks counsel before acting and he sees far(not short sighted and selfish as lv buwei and his stupid mother, he thinks of the entire qin dynasty

I hate how this show tries too hard to push Lao Ai to be this blatant villain, when a king can literally wage war before his coronation and yet can't directly deal with his ministers. Chinese drama logic right here.
You seem to not understand how ancient Chinese court works. The power of ministers, imperial relatives, and eunuchs sometimes eclipsed the emperor himself
Lord Shang's legacy from a century ago, no one can be above the laws in Qin.
He even practiced by tattoo seal (as a punishment) the face of royal preceptor, cut off the nose of another. To understand 'Shangyang' is the key for understanding Qin's contemporary society. I actually find this show quite accurate historically, except it removed a lot of blood and gores.
