I had the privilege of owning one similar to this in Prussian Blue. Awesome car, easy to fix and strong engine. Dash layout to date is the best of cars I have owned.
Clean, immaculate, I used to own the American version in gold, love it thoroughly. Thank you so much for sharing it. It's got nice lower end torque and decent acceleration throughout the gears and powerband. Those carbs work really well with that motor.
Dad bought one of these, a Corona SR5. Silver with grey naugahyde interior. Had the lesser engine though. Single overhead cam. Was a VERY cool sporty car, looked just like this but had the mirrors close to the drivers cab. Miss it, should have kept it. They even look cool 50 years later!
I had a 1974 Corona that was bought new by my step grandmother that suffered dementia and no longer could drive it. Unfortunately it was a 4 door but a surprisingly good automatic transmission and I put nearly 70,000 miles on it in less than two years. That was a great little engine
I had 1971 Corona Mk2 4 Dr sedan 4 sp 18rc single overhead cam single carb. Just a basic sedan about 100 hp +\-. But was incredibly tough durable, was so easy driving, tracked beautifully down the road and did it without any twitchy ness. Highway,mud dirt road ,snow( I just put snows on the rear and bags of salt in trunk and that car was unstoppable ,was fearless, almost indestructible. 320,000 miles (with one valve job at about 170k) engine ran perfectly when I reluctantly had to put the old girls down due to severe rust. Almost cried dropping it off at junk yard.😢
I'm in South Africa. We had around 4 of these in our extended family during the 90s. Sadly can't see a single one these days. Love this video, and this car is immaculate 👌 If anyone needs a rear glass for this, I have one in the attic.
A good HS friends mother had a brand new Corona 1900 delux, gas 4-door. Very nice car. I believe it was 1971. They were rare when new. Most people in Calif. were buying Chevy Vega and Ford Pinto and cheaper Datsun 510's. I had many 510's.
@@ericp8345 What made a 510 unique, it was a copy of a BMW or even a Porsche boxer. The 510 had independent suspension and disk brakes. Some English cars had this in the 60's as well. No one was as cheap as a 510 or got 30 mpg.

I own a 76 RT105, nothing like this though.. but I would love to own a 510.. I think the dimensions are very close to this coupe.
