That was like 10 years ago, so it was not as bad as it now is..And I am so thankful for the time and the people I met during my stay - still in touch with a lot of them. Last year when i applied for a US visa, there is one box which asked me to list down my social media accounts. Not sure if they will check if I have posted anti-American comments, which i never did or maybe for any other reasons that could affect my visa application I don't know. Anyway, my niece who invited me advised me not to focus so much on American politics online in case posts are being monitored. She even suggested that I refrain from commenting on Democrat vs Republican debates as it would show my preference towards conservatism.
