She is correct in her reference of her mother’s father. Most people have 2 grandfathers and she is making reference to specify the correct man and honor him. My neighbor was a WW2 veteran as well. Enlisted at age 15 and was a paratrooper. He served in Africa, Europe and Japan during that time. 2 silver stars and 1 bronze. My children grew up with a mighty example. I miss him very much.
@@jaymcdude1291 Me too. Lately I saw a video, where a soldier visited his veteran grandfather who barely, but took his strength to straighten up and salute back. For me, that's true patriotism. Love it.
As I listened to the old soldier's speech, tears streamed down my face. During World War II, many American Air Force pilots traveled to China to fight alongside the Chinese army, resisting the Japanese invasion and helping liberate my compatriots. Those who died in the war were laid to rest in China. Each of these brave souls fought for freedom and to end persecution. I deeply admire these American soldiers who left their homes and crossed an ocean to help the Chinese people, much like the American volunteers now on the front lines in Ukraine. To me, they embody the best of America: kind, just, and willing to stand up for what's right. As a child, my father often bought me Mickey Mouse magazines, and I especially loved Donald Duck. His life seemed idyllic: a young duck who worked for his uncle Scrooge, lived in a big house with a red roof, drove a red car with white-wall tires, and had a loving girlfriend, Daisy. Despite his likely modest income (given Scrooge's notorious stinginess), Donald managed to afford a nice house and even support his sister's three children. On weekends, he'd take Daisy to the park or fancy restaurants, and he grew strawberries in his backyard. To me, Donald Duck's life represented the American Dream. But what about America today? Recently, I saw a video of American soldiers competing to swallow a fake phallus taped to a wall. Look at Philadelphia, where countless Americans struggle with drug addiction - it's heartbreaking. While addicts may not represent all Americans, it's clear that the average American today can't afford the lifestyle I once imagined, especially those like J.D. Vance describes in his work. That's why, as a Chinese person, I support Mr. Trump. I long for the return of the great, righteous America I dreamed of as a child. I've earned permanent resident status in Canada through hard work and dedication. Next year, I hope to become a Canadian citizen, then secure an H-1B visa to work in the United States. My goal is to eventually live a life like Donald Duck's. I may not have been born American, but I hope that one day I'll be surrounded by neighbors as brave, loving, and honorable as that veteran. I want to experience the America I've always believed in - a land of opportunity, justice, and the kind of people who would cross oceans to help others in need.
We owe America and especially the valiant 98 year old and his buddies buried in Europe! I hope Donald Trump lives as long as this hero and brings America back to God! And freedom ! This veteran is the true face of America! UK 🇬🇧

To see a 98 year old war veteran that fought in the most dangerous and evil war ever inflicted upon the human race getting the cheer of “USA, USA, USA” warmed my fucking heart. He’s one of the reasons we are here today speaking English and living free rather than German and living under fascism. Thank you rnc
I went through Basic Training at 30yrs old (5yrs ago) and got to meet & shake hands with a WWII Vet. My first time and was extremely honored. A lot of the 17-20yr old didn't realize how rare it is to even see a WWII Vet, let alone to be able to shake the hand of one.
i had a similar experience in my basic training when i was just 17 years old (5 years ago) we had the honor of having 3 WW2 veterans announce our graduating class. The first man was in the 1st Infantry division and arrived on Omaha beach in a landing craft on the morning of June 6th who was part of the initial troops on the ground. The other man from the 101st Airborne division parachuted in behind enemy lines and was tasked with disrupting the German defense lines and use the element of surprise while the main force landed the beaches. The final man was in the Marines as a flamethrower during the battle of Iwo-Jima. Many of us knew the significance of these men being in our presence and we didn’t take it for granted. Such a blessing to speak to them after our ceremony and have them come to our barracks and tell some stories. As someone who has studied WW2 since i was a little kid, it was one of my greatest moments of my life to share some words with them and shake their hands. Unfortunately they have passed away and one cannot replicate their stories, only people who have had the honor of speaking & listening to them can understand the true emotions and experiences they have had. God bless them
@@6bmwYou guys are very fortunate. I embrace your story. The remaining men today from WW2 are literally living mythical legends. Thank you for sharing your experience.
@6bmw that very well may be true, but I'm hesitant to believe that the veterans who were there all happened to be at arguably the most infamous battles and some of the most intense fighting of WW2. Just sounds a little made up but definitely could be possible
Im 30 and english met a handful of ww2 vets when i was a child. Very luck to have a chat with Them. also the last surviving ww1 veteran on the planet was a local so we had a school trip to visit him!
@@Jordan-rb28 the fact that they were all in those battles were the reasons they came to our graduation. What ever party one belongs too it's important to listen to the words and rhetoric. Biden isn't the best president but he functions like one and respects our soldiers and our constitution and doesn't throw a hissy fit when he's wrong. When Trump denied what he was doing for fmany minutes while the capitol was being attacked,, when he called our fallen soldiers loosers, when he held on to classified documents that could endanger our national security, when he rambles he wants to be dictator and now he associates himself with Jesus or God, then I remember my history and say wait such rhetoric has been heard many times in history and it has been mouths of those dictotors that these fallen soldiers have fought against. My family respected America, my family have some who have fought in WWII, Korean, Vet and Afg. So, I watch and study and sorry you guys who like Trump, he's using words that are not right for America and for our soldiers.
My dad just turned 100 years old last month, and he's always been a republican. My father served in the Vietnam war with a broken right thumb and a bullet to his left cheek while carrying my brother in his arms and my sister on his back crossing the mekong river. I'm not even American and I was saluting during the whole video to this gentleman.
Us Americans really treasure these old boys.
UK 🇬🇧
I remember Trump once said in Tucker's interview "age isn't the issue. I've known guys who are in their 90s but are still sharp as a tack". This must be one of them.
