  • "A Computer Animated Hand" is a groundbreaking short film created in 1972 by Ed Catmull, a computer graphics pioneer, and Fred Parke. It is recognized as one of the earliest examples of computer-generated imagery (CGI) in film. The film features a three-dimensional rendering of a human hand, demonstrating the potential of computer animation technology.
Years later, Catmull went on to co-found Pixar and subsequently served as its president. He also held the position of president at Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Many of the algos still at the heart of today's video games date back to the late 60s and early 70s. And come from Sutherland's team at the University of Utah.
