    Love the intro you went with btw, the outtake was my style also, who doesn’t like Bourbon and Blades 😂 🤘 Great review btw, have a new respect for the Project X and it is on my radar now. I like the improvements on this model. Cheers from VA

      Thanks! I just checked out you jamming with family in the basement - very cool! I couldn't pick out all of it, but I totally digged the Red Hot Chili Peppers set! Thanks for tuning in here - I've got a cool mod video coming up soon on the Project-X in the next few days (hopefully if nothing breaks at the house I have to fix ;-)! ✌👊

    The stepped shouldering on that standoff is pretty impressive.
    It's things like that that keep Hinderer basically unchallenged at the front of the "hard use" market.

      The precision is unquestionable - that tool has a 1/20" hex end for the small screws and it fits perfectly. Thanks for checking it out.

    I have half a dozen Hinderers. I thought I would like the Project X more than I do, because it has one small, problem… the handle is too big/long. Most knives, including big knives, fit my hand well or pretty well, however, the Project X simply feels too big to me. I will definitely sell it at some point. Given that Hinderer makes 2 sizes of some models, the Project X must be an ideal candidate for a slightly smaller version. I would definitely buy one of those!

      I agree it is a tall handle, so I can see the fit in hand problem. I think it would be an excellent candidate to shrink down (ala the XM-18 and Eklipse 3") - nice thought there! Thanks for stropping by to check it out and comment - I'll be posting a custom scale update video soon from @satudave...it makes this knife even better in my hand. ✌👊

      Thanks Nick! It is a great knife - especially much more now that @SatuDave installled thumb studs. I've been watching your knives go through Billy and Courtney's hardness testing - you considering the same with the Hinderer Magnacut? 👊✌️

      I would love to be wrong about the full track, and hope you are right. That said, if Project X is so far behind in production, I might actually be dead before the full track returns 😀. Thanks for stropping by to share the hopefully true good news.

    The rhyme and reason of how the bearings work is actually quite obvious, when you think about it. The milled section of the blade and liner accepts the hollowed side of the bearing, so that the smooth, rounded side will face the flat, smooth material of either the blade or liner. That is how it comes from the factory, and that is how it should be reassembled, for the best action.
    There is only one milled side of the blade, and only one milled liner. So it's impossible to screw up. :D

      I had honestly never thought of it...so of course after reading this I had to disassemble an XM-18 I had nearby, and yeah, you are right - the smooth caged sides face the flats and the opens go in the insets. Thanks much for stropping by to drop this comment! 👊✌

    Dude that was a great deep dive into the project x. No thumbstuds is not my favorite either. I guess it’s like a lot of older ZT’s in that regard. I just loose interest in time🤷‍♂️. I kinda already knew the XM24 is the Hinderer for me….still enjoyed hearing your thoughts on the X😎🤘🤘🇺🇸

    I had acouple 3.5 harsh on flipper have you ever had a 3in xm18 are they comfortable to flip

    • @MitchBollig
      @MitchBollig  6 місяців тому

      I will admit the 3.0s, though easier on the finger - mostly due to lighter detent - are still not the most comfortable flipper.

  • @MrGtopper
    @MrGtopper 6 місяців тому +1

    Does it hurt your finger when you flip it like the xm18

    • @MitchBollig
      @MitchBollig  6 місяців тому

      No, it's very comfortable (unlike the XM-18).

    First thing I like about it: NO stupid finger choil.
    Second thing I like about it: NO stupid finger choil.
    Third thing I like about it: NO stupid finger choil.
    Now, it needs to come out with a 4" blade model.
    Thanks for the video my Bladed Brother 👍 ⚔️ ✝️ 🇺🇲

    • @MitchBollig
      @MitchBollig  Рік тому +1

      Yeah, the no-finger-choil is one of the essential design choices. As for the 4", I agree with you...but I don't think the XM-24 does out of self preservation ;-). Thanks for stropping by to check it out and comment!
