  • Time to retire my little CO2 diffusers and bring out the big guys.. literally 😵‍💫 I just purchased an oversized CO2 reactor and I couldn't be happier! Here, get one too! amzn.to/49E6EDI At this time I see it's unavailable, but maybe it will be in stock soon!

    I had one of these a few years ago under a Taiwan brand, it was working very well until you start cleaning it, the nipple connected to the CO2 line was very fragile, it broke off after cleaning it 3 times.

    I have had the same stuff happenin to me with this as well, I mean that the hoose poped, the plastic is sort of a cheap, and the plastic tightening nuts work just with some hooses 16/20 not possible even some 16/22 are less thicker that others and they tend to snap off that.
    I have used tightening metal belt and now I feel a bit safer, but the thing as the plastic looks kinda brittle so imma afraid that I might break it after a few cleaning sessions.
    But yea over all it sort of a pain to assemble it back after clean or smthin like that usually I leave some dry paper towels on it for a hour or two to see if there are any leaks yayx. otherwise it would be good product.

    Hey Danny, thx for your review. I built myself similiar CO2 reactor but using ordinary water filter casing and plastic bioballs. Works well :)
    As for air bubbles.. this is not only Oase. I've had Aquael Ultra external filter and Tetra EX1200 Plus. They both "produced" air bubbles from time to time. I dont know from where they had it :)

    You could be sucking air on the outlet pipe going into the tank where it connects to the plastic pipe. Also when you clean the pre filter and put it back in air is captured which will collect at the top of the filter, what I do is lean the filter over so the pre filter end leaning towards you and propeller is higher for a few seconds, this flushes out trapped air in the filter.

      Hi, I’ve actually located the drain sound coming from where the heater is, so it’s probably the threads there or an o ring if it has one, will investigate ☺️

  • @david94839
    @david94839 7 місяців тому

    The plastic threaded rings should be put on the tubing with threads facing the defuser. Then put the tubing on and tighten the ring back on t the defused.
    You had the rings on the defuser first, which is why the leaking. ❤

    • @Danny-MOG
      @Danny-MOG  7 місяців тому

      Hi, I’m hoping I understood this right, but those thread rings don’t have a direction, I didn’t even touch them when I reassembled the reactor after it leaked . The problem was either the 2 propellers not sitting right or me not screwing the device straight ☺️

    I have been using that reactor for 3 months. Today I was going to change my filter floss and the co2 connection on the top snapped off and started spraying water everywhere! It was barely touched. It appears very weak.

    So if you don't see the bubbles how do you know Co2 is entering the aquarium?

    • @Danny-MOG
      @Danny-MOG  4 місяці тому

      Hi, by the permanent CO2 test inside the tank and how the plants pearl :)

  • @Igor-q3f

    The filter hoses needs to be as short as possible. With those long hoses the filter looses a lot of flow.

    • @Danny-MOG
      @Danny-MOG  4 місяці тому

      Hi, I don’t have a flow problem, all good here ☺️

    How do you measure co2 in the tank? I use a sera on a 160L with about 10 bubbles/sec and the drop checker is still dark green

    • @Danny-MOG
      @Danny-MOG  7 місяців тому

      Hi, I use that drop checker you saw in the video. 10 bubbles per second with a reactor sounds like a load of co2 for 160 litres. So what comes to mind: 1. Check if your tested fluid is not expired 2. Check if you have too much water surface movement like an air stone or outlet making too much agitation 3. High temperature? Co2 is less soluble in high temperature, but that’s just theory off the internet not my experience 4. Is your ph very high? I ALWAYS need to use more co2 to get to a certain level when using tap water (ph over 8) than when I use ro or if I have aquasoil. 5. Make sure your reactor isn’t defective.. that’s all I got :)) most importantly though is how your plants grow, don’t stress so much about the colour of the checker :))

    • @wiingus
      @wiingus 7 місяців тому

      @@Danny-MOG ph is 6-7. I think it is the loss to surface agitation. I’m using the aqua rio surface skimmer and lily pipe. Plants and fish are doing well.

    • @ihsanulusoy16
      @ihsanulusoy16 6 місяців тому

      Me same. I give so much co2 so my reactor can't handle to dissolve it and the drop checker is still dark green. Im planing to switch to the diffuser again because the flow of my filter is also decreased.

    Cheers from my fish room channel in Chicago, where I am a delighted to be a subscriber. I love this tank and can see you're quite the aquascaper! But your standards for absolute quiet are perhaps a bit too rigid. In nature, water makes noise. Think of it as "soothing" not irritating :)

      @Danny-MOG  7 місяців тому +1

      Bestie there’s nothing natural about that filter hummm, that’s straight out of Oblivion 😬 as for the water trickling, as I said, I don’t mind it at all ☺️
