As a total fighting game newbie, do ya think i could play this game?
i am totaly in love with neco arc and just want to have fun, but 50 bucks atm is alot D:
is it a beginner-friendly game, even if i only want to play with neco-arc? :>

You can definitely play Melty Blood and at first glance there are only four buttons to deal with (three attack buttons and one shield), but given how the series has changed over the years since the first entry with added mechanics, it is not the most beginner-friendly. There are current fighting games out there with definite tutorials that explain the basics for those who are just starting out as well. I will say that figuring out the mechanics of Melty Blood is entertaining and there are numerous guides if you get confused along the way.
As for playing Neco-Arc only, I will say that it is important to play the other characters as well to know how to utilize Neco-Arc against them. Who knows, the playstyle of some characters may fit the way you would like to play or you may get to the point where you can confidently state that you main the Random character select.

Even with this price, they already offer some additional free dlc characters like neco arc and mash, so I say give it a chance

Compared to other fighting games in the market now, this one is some of the easiest to just pick-up and mess around, but it is still a anime fighting game, so not really beginner-friendly(except if you are ok to losing a lot in the first weeks). But if you pick the game, i think the character you will have most difficulty is neco-arc(she is very bad and mostly a joke character), but again, if you don't have a problem losing a lot, you will have tons of fun just mashing online and/or with friends. The real fun is not always winning, but just messing around with characters you like :).
