Great you showed it holding the processor. Since so much is under the microscope in some videos it's hard to imagine what the size of something actually is. Awesome work! And if all 4090s are repaired you can always try something like being a surgeon.

Alex, on devices you cant test, like this CPU. How do you know how to charge? is it a fix? maybe fix? or do you have a separate charge for attempted fix?

I’ve built more computers/servers than I care to remember and I have never, not once, had a component issue like this. Boggles my mind, but thank goodness NF exists!
Yup and they are most commonly used in pairs. They were designed for server duty. I remember one that had a gallium alloy cooler assembly on it made by nanocoolers. The gallium alloy got some air inside that caused the MHD pumps to work intermittently. Replaced with a tried and true water cooling unit.
@@unnamedchannel1237 if you can spend 5000 $ on JUST the processor, it's a bit dumb to think they can't afford new ram and motherboard that makes it a few orders of magnitude better. Also, when you're in the market for the most powerful thing there is, you usually need it for a good reason 😉 Especially companies.
Even the lowest melting point leaded solder melts at 180 C degrees ... so there is no problem. There are no moving parts, like some kind of port - USB, power jack ...
I recommend you guys on reddit sometimes (mainly for storage/GPU repair), I do wonder if they go through with the recommendation sometimes haha. I do use a different alias on reddit though, so it's unlikely i'd be recognized here on UA-cam.
From my experience, CPU's can handle 1 or 2 broken bypass caps. I'm not a complete meathead, most weren't my fault, it happens. That resistor on the other hand, probably the bigger issue. But you may as well repair them all at once.
Seriously after watching your pin broken fix, videos I eagerly want to send my AmD ryzen 5 3600 cpu to you as a parcel, unfortunately I live in another country and I literally dont know which shop in my country could fix the problem like you do and even I got rejected by AMD support like a dating app for to do possible RMA even after my cpu was under warranty, Now I don't know whether to laugh or cry at same time

I have knocked off quite a few of these in the past. Each time Intel has replaced under their warranty. Benefit of being an integrator.
Most ceramics vary substantially with temperature. I predict that the caps are 1.0 uF bypass ceramics.

This CPU was probably dropped onto a desk corner or case edge, and it's probably the only one that got dropped out of thousands.
just a question these things can get really hot. So will soft solder be a risk ?
if it's transistor or mosfet, maybe ... but this got hot under 100 C degrees

What is the melting point of the leaded solder you are using because the 8180 can get up to 84 degrees Celsius.
Even the lowest melting point leaded solder melts at 180 C degrees ... so there is no problem. There are no moving parts, like some kind of port - USB, power jack ...
There goes the ROHS compliance. I would be scared to use the soldering iron near the gold pads. Kapton tape is our best friend here.

does company use special lead while manufacturing cpu cause it works in high temperatures and normal lead might meld in high temp?
