Watching that first scene where Homelander enters the lab, it occurred to me that all of the staff there must have had some protocol specifically for if he ever came back. The way every stands around not looking makes me think that they were told not to run, since they can't outrun lasers. They were probably told not to panic, not to talk to him unless he talks first, and pretty much not provoke him. It's like when you see a bear, there's some things you can do, but if the bear wants you dead, it's over before it began.

Prediction: If Sage isn’t directly killed, her “foreplay” is going to go wrong and she’ll be blinded. From there something’s going to happen that maims/destroys the rest of her body except for her brain.
