As a candle maker, and wax melt maker, I would never recommend using essential oils in candles. It can be a fire hazard. Some makers do, but I’m assuming they’ve done their testing, and their percentages, and temperatures are good. I only use fragrance oils made for candle making. It’s not an easy process, and I don’t want to discourage anyone from doing a DIY, but it can be, and is a safety issue. Making candles isn’t as simple as melting some wax, adding fragrance, and grabbing a wick. There’s so much more to it than that, and we are playing with fire, at the end of the day. So many variables to consider…the type of wax, the vessel, the fragrance oil, the percentage of the fragrance oil, at what temperature to add that fragrance oil, stirring enough to bind the two, and what temperature to pour. There are so many wicks out there, and typically takes testing a ton of them to find the right one to go with not just the type of wax, but the size of the vessel, and diameter of the jar. I’ve never re-used a wick before, and I’m assuming it would be okay, but it depends on what you’re pouring it into. It’s truly a science. Be safe!
Hi Shannon,
It is Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023 and i just worked 9 hours today at my job. I am so tired and i am just kicking back catching up on videos I have recd alerts gor this week. Even though this is from last year i love Christmas DIYs.. Last Christmas was the first Christmas I had not been in my Mom's house for 31 years and I was so sad I had a table top tree and a few decorations but did not go overboard as years past. I like overboard. 😅
My Mom's favorite word was JOY. For her it stood for Jesus Others Yourself and thats how she lead her life too. Thru tge years us kids gave her so many JOY items she finally said no more! When she passed away we all took our joy items back. My little place is so very tiny but I think this year it eill literally be filled with lots of JOY in every corner and I very much want to make your red JOY candles. I have a very large serving window with a wide window sill and I will put tte candles in tge middle but, Shannon, I am going to put the JOY letters on both sides so you see it in tge living room and also one side in the kitchen. I have large gold glittery letters on hand. Ihave an idea too for the Mason jar Christmas tree cut out. If i succeed at these crafts i will give you a shout out on instagram.
I am offto bed. I have church early tomorrow.
Blessings and Joy,
Rebekah
I like to visit the lands of winter and snow, but give me my native Florida any day!
I have always loved winter, especially when it snowed. I lived in Maryland as a child (and well into adulthood) and loved sledding in the snow and ice skating at the nearby ice rink. Now I'm in North Carolina and don't get snow as often, but I have always loved the simple beauty and quietness of the snow. Both in Maryland and here in NC, living in the very rear of the neighborhood, with little traffic, the whiteness and beauty of the snow remains longer. I also have a wooded area behind my house, so the beauty isn't spoiled. It's so peaceful and quiet when it snows, making it even more enjoyable. ☃️🧣🧤⛸️🐧❄️
I live in Georgia and we get a little bit of snow once in a great while…I’ve been here 10 years and 1 time we actually got cold thick (great packing snow) 3 inches of snow…the whole town closed down for a couple of days….it was so funny!
Hi pretty lady. How are you doing today? And how is the weather over there???
Winter is my favorite season. Let it snow ❄️ let it snow ❄️ let it snow ❄️!
I've gotten used to living in the Great North West. I look forward to fall I'm tired of the smoke from the fires. I like your cats it helps me stay motivated
I would make sure that is a cup for hot liquids, probably is, but if not it can shatter. These are all adorable
Someone is impersonating you trying to get people to go to telegram.
The birch tree pool noodle candle is so authentic.
My favorite seasons are fall and winter!
🍁🍂🌾🎃🌨❄️☃️
Hello how are you doing today? And how is the weather over there?
Love Winter! Always have, Always will! And I am 60+.
S N O W is a four letter word. One of the many reasons that I live in the land of sunshine.
Am I the only one who is obsessed with her transitions?
I am from Texas. We have 9 months of summer, so yes, I love winter!! ❤❤
I use to love to ski and ice skate now I love the idea of standing in side and watch the snow and birds in the snow.
I enjoy your videos you are so creative.
We live in the midwest also. I loved winter as a child. We would play outside all day, only coming in the house to get dry gloves. Now, I love Christmas and the month leading up to it, but not winter. Shannon, you have the absolute best craft and Christmas channels. Love them both! Your creativity amazes me.
I love the first few snowfalls, and white Christmases, then I like to go south for the rest of the winter!
I love winter as I came was raised in Texas where we rarely had snow. I’m now in NW Illinois for the last 8 years and I love the winter here.
Here in Florida, I miss the cold weather and the snow at Christmas…it makes the holiday special….Until Jan 1 and then it has to GO!!! 😂
I love winter! I live in Las Vegas where we have endless, HOT summers which extend into fall!
I have never found a dollar tree that is as neat, clean and well stocked as yours. I’ve lived in three different states and every one I’ve visited has been junky, dirty and uninviting. Which is so sad because I love your ideas!
I am from K.C. But have lived in Portland, OR for 30 years. I love the winter as long as it is not raining all the time like in Portland or icey like it can be in K.C. I love the snow
About winter: I like that there’s no ragweed. And it’s good sleeping weather. We live in a 100 year-old house. It gets hot upstairs in the summer. I sleep much better in the winter.
Love Winter ❄️ ❄️
Because Louisiana is so HOT 🥵 in Summer
I agree. When CS Lewis described a bleak time as "always winter but never Christmas," it really resonated with me.
I grew up and spent most of my life in Iowa. We've lived in Tennessee for quite awile now. I miss Iowa weather. I love Iowa Fall/Winter weather! ❤ I hate sitting on the porch on Christmas sometimes in shorts. It was rsally hard on my kids when we moved here! They're all grown now, most moved back to the Midwest, lol! I only have 2 of 7 kids that remained in Tennessee. Both are my youngest two. Who adapted better! 😂😂😂
No winter for me, grew up in SD and now have been in AZ for 35 years, not planning to move! Lol Love candles, the Peppermint candle is my fav.
I live in Florida. I do enjoy Florida Winters, as they're mild, and it's a nice change from the 80's and 90's that we get the rest of the year. The coldest weather I've ever experienced here is 20°F. I don't think I would like to live in the extreme cold. A few weeks of Winter is plenty for me. 🥰🎄
I love all of these candle diys, but my favorite had to be the charger plate with the candles sitting at various heights that you added all the picks around. What a beautiful centerpiece it makes! I really liked the jars with the paint over the contact paper to make a small window & had never thought of using a floating candle inside and the jar rolled in Epsom salts, too. Both of them seemed more like diys to have my grands help make. Thanks for sharing!
Cute ideas. I nearly burned my house down with a candle today. I'm so glad my son smothered the flame!
I love winter. Can’t handle the heat. Love all of these btw. ❄️☃️🎄
Live in Colorado. Love winter now that I don’t have to drive to work in bad weather. However, your winters are harder than ours!❤
I love all of these ideas. I absolutely hate winter I freeze and I don't thaw out until the coming summer.
Give me 32 degrees outside all day!!! Lol I love winter
Shannon, you need to do a “Coastal Christmas”. We don’t get snow, so a beach Christmas is a winner here…..❤️. I just made a “snowman” from leftover DT pumpkins.
Just an fyi as if you can’t tell this ☝🏼is not Shannon
I love winter! As long as I'm toasty and warm haha
I live in Sydney Australia where we have quite hot Christmas days. I would love to have a white Christmas ⛄️♥️
We live in Atlanta. After moving to upstate N.Y. buying a home and getting settled in. Winter came. We made it 18 months and came back to Atlanta.I hate the cold.
I love winter without the cold and ice! Lol
Love Christmas ⛄
These are so pretty. The one with the cranberries in it. I've made those but I put some greenery in them too. They looked so pretty.
Love the simplicity of the candle
I love the tissue idea. I can deal with winter better than summer here in South Carolina. We’ve had very cold Christmases and very hot. We never know.
Winter is the best!!!! And now I have all my teacher gifts!!! Thanks 😊
I hate cold weather 😒 and I live in So Cal where it doesn't ❄️ snow! We're just babies here 😆
Winter is my favorite season
Love the peppermint candle idea!
Hi pretty lady. How are you doing today? And how is the weather over there??
JOY! Candles. Wow!
Love winters in Houston. It rarely snows, but winters a for the most part so nice. With the rare winter 2 yrs. ago.❄ It was brutal.
Wow! I love the candles with the napkins! Such cute ideas! I love winter…I live in Florida, so we look so forward to our few weeks of cool weather! Lol
You are extremely creative. Love, Love your ideas. I live in the Midwest as well. Love being able to wear my fall and winter clothes, love warm fires and the beautiful holiday lights and looks and a fresh snowfall but not the cold winter weather. 😃
I do not like winter 🥶 and I start dreading it about this time each year. Great candle hacks Shannon!!
Daniel 12:10
“Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.”
I dislike winter also. I dread the cold.
Love winter and snow ❄ so why do I live in Arizona......grandkids. Great fun candle ideas
I do like the Looks of Winter but not the bitter cold. I have always told people that I love snow for Santa and then it can go away after Christmas lol
Love winter
I Love the Winter and Snow🌬️🏔️❄️ my best season in New England ☃️
Absolutely love all these ideas, especially the ones using the battery operated candles. I can't wait to get started on some of these! I live in NH, so I'm no stranger to bitterly cold winters! I don't mind the cold as much as the heavy snows we get, and blizzards, not to mention the occasional power outages! My favorite season is fall. Love the weather and our famous fall foliage!
not to mention the ice storms we have gotten here in NH that have made the power go out for a few weeks. (though we have not had one in a few years) I agree fall is my favorite season! love the colors and the crisp scent!
I have the battery candles too and love them. Most of them have a timer on the bottom with the on/off switch. so if you turn them on at sunset, they'll run for a few hours, then come back on at the same time every night. It's fun to watch them magically come on at night
Christmas is my favorite time of year I hate winter can't stand cold.
I need to move back to Florida.
Awesome pretty!! Jesus loves you and your souls are priceless!
I like winter but I believe mainly for the holidays- Christmas especially and for the kiddos! I've noticed the cold weather gets worse for me every year! I have titanium rods and screws in my back from an auto accident years ago. Along with that came broken bones and muscle/nerve damage. So the cold is not so nice for me. I do love the magic of it though! It's beautiful! However, looking to move somewhere warmer, hopefully soon.
I love the Fall but I love Christmas ⛄🌲
I totally despise winter! I love summer I love everything about summer that’s why I live in Texas. XOXO
So many cute diys. I love the peppermint candle. I do not enjoy winter but I was born in New York and now live in Boston.
Thanks so much for sharing new ideas using candles. The centerpiece using the charger plates is my favorite. I enjoy watching this channel.❤️
Thank you sweetie,great ideas 💡!!!
All ideas were so cute!!! I need to jump on the candle bandwagon. They make great gifts. Who doesn’t like a candle? Thank you for the great ideas!!! ❤️🎄
Hi Shannon, I absolutely hate winter and the cold. I can't handle it anymore.
Such cute candles! 😍 I love the fall and winter. I can not stand the heat so I always dread summer every year. Oh and I'm not sure this would work for your birch candles but instead of making your own faux birch they do have birch looking contact paper I've seen at Walmart and maybe some of the dollar stores might even carry it. Just a thought. Thanks so much for all of your ideas! 🥰
I love all of these ideas Shannon! The cinnamon stick candle, the winter candle holder, the cranberry floating candle, and the beautiful center piece are my favorites today. Thank you!
EXCELLENT VIDEO
Thank you for sharing this...
Hi pretty lady. How are you doing today? And how is the weather over there???
I love Christmas and ❄️ winter
Absolutely love these. The peppermint candle is my absolute favorite.
Live in Wisconsin and love the winter wish we had more snow and love the cold, I dislike summer!!
I LOVE the variety and ease in all of these ideas!
I use a cylinder glass vase to do a floating cranberry candle for my holiday centerpiece, and the extra height allows space to put a few sprigs of fresh rosemary in below the cranberry layer. Most grocery stores carry small packages of fresh rosemary year round, so super easy to find some and it looks SO lovely with the cranberries and candle!
I love winter!!!! ❤️ I love Christmas !!! 🎄 I live in South Georgia so we usually have very mild winters!!!
Thank you for thinking of the people such as myself who does not have those fancy machines
This video is a KEEPER! Thank you! Affordable n doable DIYs!!!
The candles and floral arrangement on the charger is so nice!
Years ago, I used spray paint (the kind for plastic) to apply a few light mist coats over adhesive letters before peeling them off the backing (let them dry first). That allowed me to change them to pastels for Easter and green for Christmas. IDK why but the colored adhesive letters were way more expensive than the black when I went to buy them and they didn’t have the colors I wanted, anyway.
Shannon,
I LOVE the quart jar with the floating candle and other quart jar. Thay would be so beautiful for a banquet or wedding or anniversary with a little more decor with it.
Gorgeous!
I loved ❤️ that you didn't used a stinky cricut. Thanks
LOVE winter! Live in New England
Hi pretty lady. How are you doing today? And how is the weather over there?
Love the charger/candle centerpiece!
love the candy cane candle
I love fall hate the summer heat and the winter freeze love the fall best of both seasons and like spring for the rebirth
The peppermint candle has been one of my favorites. 🎄
Shannon- 1) how the heck to do you keep coming up with new ideas year after year????
2) the mason jar with the floating candle would look really cool as a whole jar candle with green wax and some balsam oil.
3) how do you get the bath salts not to fall off through the season- as mine fully dried last year it just flaked off.
As far as snow- I used to love it. Then last year on Valentine's day- my first after separation- we got a huge storm- over 18"- I thought I got this girl power!!! Yeah - no. I shoveled about 10 feet and started calling everyone I know for someone to dig me out. That storm broke me!
So many quick beautiful ideas to chose from!!🎄🎄🎄 Tfs Shannon❤🎅🎄🤶❤
Liked all your candle crafts, the bath salts making a frosty glow is the sweetest. I grew up back East in Southern New Jersey;, miss the snow and cold weather. I now live in Az, it's just hot here. Need all the winter decor to bring the season to life.
My favorite is the candle she made, in the glass. So adorable!
I love winter ♥ ❤ 😍
I only like winter until through New Years Day😂😂 then I’m ready for spring!🫶🏼 not too hot either! Lol
Rats! Last Christmas left me feeling like I was finally done with holiday decorating…just too much effort for so little return. But your sweet, creative and easy crafts have re-ignited me…I’m IN…again!….for Christmas decor! Thanks!!
Omgosh that hot drink candle was soo cute. Would never work in Australia though sadly, the ants would eat the candies haha
I love winter!!!
Great ideas Shannon! I have yet to see a LED pillar candle in my Dollar Tree but there is hope. Today I found something I had been looking for for at least 3 years.
I, too, live in the midwest. I used to love winter but I am really not so much of a fan anymore. I love not having to bundle up to go outside and not fearing for my life that I am going to fall.
I absolutely love winter!!! I love the center piece!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
I love winter. I live in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. We usually have pretty cold snowy winters. I’m originally from New England. Grew up with really long cold winters.
Hello Marley
Such great ideas! Being from Nebraska I understand winters and I hate being cold too!!
