if the musicians were trying to make a song of honor, friendship, glory, despair, faith, believe and much much more, then they pretty much nailed it to perfection.

Kyuzo was my favorite of the Samurai.... calm, steady, and composed even in the worst of situations, as lethal as the dreaded black mamba in every confrontation, modest even when he had every reason to brag... that's someone you want by your side when lives are at stake.

This is quite possibly the greatest theme of all time from the greatest movie, this movie is so underappreciated or unheard. I was fortunate enough to see this movie as a child, adoring Samuria I did my chores to be able to watch all of it as I saw it was coming on. I never forgot it. Took me ages and I finally found a "remastered" dvd of it. When nothing else is entertaining I can always sit down and be enthralled to this film start to finish.

Whenever I think of this movie, think of the way Kikuchiyo went out. He was stabbed but he gathered the last of his strength to kill his attacker. The best part? It wasn’t super dramatized, it was just raw. No music or nothing.
That final shot too. All seven of the samurai in one frame. Beautiful film.

Akira Kurosawa seems to have liked John Ford's movies, Russian literature, Shakespeare. The sense of justice in the scene at the Drive-in restaurant of the movie“The Grapes of Wrath"feels something that leads to the movie" Seven Samurai ".

Warlord: "What is best in life?" Conan: "To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women." Me: "Wrong, to hear Fumio Hayasaka, emulate Kyūzō (third from rear) and watch Seven Samurai!" If I had to pick one song to play for the ferry man as we crossed Styx, this would be the one that would get me free passage. If St. Peter asks why I should pass, I'd press play on my 80's boom box and this song would open the gates.

Seven Samurai, one of those very very few movies that were actually true perfection, not just phony shallow Hollywood bleeding heart type stuff that everyone seems to praise like "It's a wonderful life", no, all the credit that went to Seven Samurai was well placed. It's true in all times that true genius is often overlooked and dismissed.
