To see another breakdown of this same motor, check out Randy Richards’ video: • Motor Overhaul | Repul... on his channel @RRINTHESHOP.
Love it. Thanks for the tear down. I have a Wagner 1/3hp that I got cheap from a neighbor to replace a broken one on my bail elevator. Unfortunately it turns backwards, and I don't see a way to move the brushes. I'm going to romove the bell and see if they can be moved internally.
That sounds like a good idea. I'm pleased you found my video useful!
wonder if the black commutator was burning sawdust?
🤔mmm... Yeah, could be. There was an awful lot of dust in that motor.
wonder if those fibrous sleeves on the top bolts were asbestos.
I suppose it's possible. But why the need to heat shield those I don't understand 🤔.
@@ItsFixable the only thing I could think of would be because heat rises and they were worried about the bolts expanding and allowing the housing to warp or something? I am also curious, I wonder if it has something to do with the insulation rating of the motor. I'm definitely not a motor expert lol
